Redundancy in spatial databases [PDF]

open access: yesACM SIGMOD Record, 1989
Spatial objects other than points and boxes can be stored in spatial indexes, but the techniques usually require the use of approximations that can be arbitrarily bad. This leads to poor performance and highly inaccurate responses to spatial queries. The situation can be improved by storing some objects in the index redundantly.

Efficient Processing of Spatial Joins Using R-Trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
: In this paper, we show that spatial joins are very suitable to be processed on a parallel hardware platform. The parallel system is equipped with a so-called shared virtual memory which is well-suited for the design and implementation of parallel ...

Improving Spatial neighbor Index Performance Based on [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science, 2014
Spatial data consists of objects in space made up of points, lines, regions and data of higher dimensions. Access method is required to support efficient manipulation of the multi-dimensional spatial objects in the secondary storage.

BIM-BASED INDOOR PATH PLANNING CONSIDERING OBSTACLES [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2017
At present, 87 % of people’s activities are in indoor environment; indoor navigation has become a research issue. As the building structures for people’s daily life are more and more complex, many obstacles influence humans’ moving.

RESEARCH ON SPLICING METHOD OF DIGITAL RELIC FRAGMENT MODEL [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2018
In the course of archaeological excavation, a large number of pieces of cultural relics were unearthed, and the restoration of these fragments was done manually by traditional arts and crafts experts. In this process, cultural relics experts often try to

Topological queries in spatial databases

open access: yesProceedings of the fifteenth ACM SIGACT-SIGMOD-SIGART symposium on Principles of database systems, 1996
We studytopological queriesover two-dimensional spatial databases. First, we show that the topological properties of semi-algebraic spatial regions can be completely specified using a classical finite structure, essentially the embedded planar graph of the region boundaries.
