Differentiating spatial memory from spatial transformations.

Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 2014
The perspective-taking task is one of the most common paradigms used to study the nature of spatial memory, and better performance for certain orientations is generally interpreted as evidence of spatial representations using these reference directions.

Temporo-spatial differentiations

2023
Temporo-spatial differentiation problems were first introduced in \cite{Assani-Young} under the name of spatial-temporal differentiation problems. Given a probability space $(X, \mu)$ and measurable map $T : X \to X$, a temporo-spatial differentiation problem is concerned with the limiting behavior of the sequence$$\frac{1}{\mu(C_k)} \int_{C_k} \frac{1}

Divisionalization with spatial differentiation

International Journal of Industrial Organization, 2001
Abstract This paper assumes that firms can create independent divisions which compete in a market where the product is spatially differentiated. Our first result is that if the number of firms is exogenous and higher than some critical level, then the symmetric subgame perfect equilibrium converges to perfect competition when the cost of ...

Time response of plasmonic spatial differentiators

Optics Letters, 2019
We investigate the time response of plasmonic spatial differentiators based on prism coupling configurations. We show that when the incident light is time-modulated, in addition to the spatial differentiation, the output field is also contributed by the signal derivative with respect to time.

Low-Complexity Differential Spatial Modulation

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2019
Differential spatial modulation (DSM) is a multi-antenna technique which transmits additional data bits by selecting indexes of antennas and avoids pilot overhead. However, DSM is complicated in two aspects and we aim to reduce the complexity of DSM in this letter.

Spatially Differentiated Sustainability Assessment of Products

2018
Due to the globalization of supply chains, the environmental and social impacts related to products are often dispersed over many locations. Life cycle-oriented sustainability assessment methods aim at compiling the total impacts without explicitly considering their spatial distribution.

Differentiation by Spatial Filtering

Journal of Optics, 1976
A simple procedure for generating filters to perform I and II order differentiation has been presented. The procedure is based on the dependence of the diffraction efficiency on the grating constant of a binary grating. The influence of the finite transraittance of the central region of the filter on the differentiation quality has also been studied.

Spatial differentiation of land transfer

Chinese Geographical Science, 2006
The policy of land transfer has greatly influenced the macro economy of China with the commencement of another innovation of land use system. Therefore, it is urgent to put forward some rational and feasible suggestions for local government to manage the market of land transfer.

Notes on spatial differentiation

2022

Spatial competition with differentiated products

Regional Science and Urban Economics, 1989
Abstract We consider a model of competition in which products may differ in both location and brand specification. We assume linear transportation costs in the geographic space and quadratic costs of deviation from the most preferred product in the brand space. Brand specifications are given but prices and locations are variable.
