Spatial Differentiation of the Macroeconomic Indicators in Russia’s Economy

open access: yes, 2010
Problems of spatial differentiation in the Russian economy in 2001-2007 are analyzed. Differentiation by main macroeconomic indicators on the level of federal districts and constituent entities of the Russian Federation is shown.

Spatial Coupling and Resilience Differentiation Characteristics of Landscapes in Populated Karstic Areas in Response to Landslide Disaster Risk: An Empirical Study from a Typical Karst Province in China

open access: yesLand
Landslides pose a significant threat to the safety and stability of settlements in karst regions worldwide. The long-standing tight balance state of settlement funding and infrastructure makes it difficult to allocate disaster prevention resources ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Le peuplement de l'Afrique centrale et orientale. Logiques héritées et développement urbain actuel

open access: yesEspace populations sociétés, 2019
Our initial objective is to evaluate the state of urbanization in Central and Eastern Africa and its evolution since the 1960s, by geographically locating the multiplication of the number of agglomerations of more than 10,000 inhabitants and their ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Geographical patterns of population aging in Russia

open access: yesДемографическое обозрение, 2020
The paper investigates the geographical features of demographic ageing using the age of retirement as the main definition for the old age boundary. The study is based on demographic statistics of Rosstat and the UN Population Division.

Advertising in a Differential Game of Spatial Competition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We investigate a dynamic duopoly game with horizontal product differentiation, to show that the standard approach to spatial competition fails to produce a pure strategy equilibrium in prices when treated in a differential game framework. This holds independently of the shape of the transportation cost function.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
