A Spatial Index Based on Clipping Bounding Box of Space Partitioning Tree [PDF]

open access: yesZhengzhou Daxue xuebao. Gongxue ban, 2022
In spatial databases, spatio-temporal indexes based on R tree use minimum bounding box(MBB)to approximate spatio-temporal data to improve query efficiency, and the efficiency of indexing can be further improved by by clipping the bounding box.To ...

Spatial color indexing and applications [PDF]

open access: yesSixth International Conference on Computer Vision (IEEE Cat. No.98CH36271), 2002
We suggest the use of the color correlogram as a generic indexing tool to tackle various computer vision problems. Correlograms were shown to be very effective for content-based image retrieval. We adapt the correlogram to handle the problems of image subregion querying, object localization, object tracking, and cut detection.

An extensible index for spatial databases [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings Thirteenth International Conference on Scientific and Statistical Database Management. SSDBM 2001, 2002
Emerging database applications require the use of new indexing structures beyond B-trees and R-trees. Examples are the k-D tree, the trie, the quadtree, and their variants. They are often proposed as supporting structures in data mining, GIS, and CAD/CAM applications.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
