YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Harmonic density interpolation methods for high-order evaluation of Laplace layer potentials in 2D and 3D

open access: yes, 2018
We present an effective harmonic density interpolation method for the numerical evaluation of singular and nearly singular Laplace boundary integral operators and layer potentials in two and three spatial dimensions. The method relies on the use of Green'

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Spatial interpolation of dry deposition using EOF models

open access: yesRevista de Matemática: Teoría y Aplicaciones, 2009
Random processes are monitored over space and time by a network of stations distributed across a spatial region. Auxiliary information is often gathered not only at the stations but at other points across the region.

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

Spatial Interpolation Methods of Temperature Data Based on Geographic Information System—Taking Jiangxi Province as an Example

open access: yesProceedings
The comfort level of air temperature in a region is one of the influencing factors that affect tourists’ choice of tourism purpose. As a national red cultural mecca, the study of air temperature in Jiangxi Province can provide an important scientific ...

GRID2D/3D: A computer program for generating grid systems in complex-shaped two- and three-dimensional spatial domains. Part 1: Theory and method [PDF]

open access: yes
An efficient computer program, called GRID2D/3D was developed to generate single and composite grid systems within geometrically complex two- and three-dimensional (2- and 3-D) spatial domains that can deform with time.

Validity of a Wearable Digital Insole for Assessing Gait ON and OFF in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Gait impairment is a distinctive symptom of Parkinson's disease that negatively impact mobility. We assessed the validity of wearable digital insoles against a validated reference gait analysis system for measuring select gait characteristics in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A comparative analysis between digital insoles

Different methods for spatial interpolation of rainfall data for operational hydrology and hydrological modeling at watershed scale: a review

open access: yesBiotechnologie, Agronomie, Société et Environnement, 2013
Watershed management and hydrological modeling require data related to the very important matter of precipitation, often measured using raingages or weather stations.

Uncertainty Assessment for Management of Soil Contaminants with Sparse Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In order for soil resources to be sustainably managed, it is necessary to have reliable, valid data on the spatial distribution of their environmental impact.
