A Spatial Daisyworld Model

We present a simple spatial implementation of the classic Daisyworld model, similar to a cellular automaton. The spatial version reproduces well the standard scenario with hysteresis cycles, and allows for a more physical implementation of the diffusion of temperature.

Spatial Autoregressive Models with Generalized Spatial Disturbances

Statistica Sinica
Summary: We propose a spatial autoregressive model with generalized disturbances to simultaneously model the spatial effects between the response variables and those between the disturbance terms. By directly modeling the covariance matrix of the disturbance terms as a polynomial function of a row-normalized adjacency matrix with a prespecified upper ...

Spatial, Non-Spatial and Hybrid Models for Scaling

Psychometrika, 1976
In this paper, hierarchical and non-hierarchical tree structures are proposed as models of similarity data. Trees are viewed as intermediate between multidimensional scaling and simple clustering. Procedures are discussed for fitting both types of trees to data. The concept of multiple tree structures shows great promise for analyzing more complex data.

An Extension of Spatial Channel Model with Spatial Consistency

2016 IEEE 84th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC-Fall), 2016
Spatial consistency is identified as an important feature for fifth generation (5G) channel model. In this paper, a geometry stochastic approach for spatial consistency is presented under the framework of spatial channel model. The extended stochastic channel model (SCM) realizes large-scale parameters(LSPs) and small- scale parameters (SSPs) in a ...

Classification of Spatial Properties for Spatial Allocation Modeling

GeoInformatica, 2005
Given a set of spatial units, such as land parcels and grid cells, how to allocate subsets of it to activities of interest while satisfying certain criteria? Such a decision process is here called spatial allocation. Though many problems of spatial allocation share this generic construct, each may have a quite unique set of criteria and interpret even ...

Spatial Models for Fuzzy Clustering

Computer Vision and Image Understanding, 2001
Summary: A novel approach to fuzzy clustering for image segmentation is described. The fuzzy \(C\)-means objective function is generalized to include a spatial penalty an the membership functions. The penalty term leads to an iterative algorithm that is only slightly different from the original fuzzy \(C\)-means algorithm and allows the estimation of ...
