Climatological Annual Mean and Seasonal Variations in Spatial Energy Spectra of Satellite-Observed Sea-Surface Chlorophyll-a Concentration in the East China Sea

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The hourly L2-level chlorophyll-a (CHL-a) concentration spatial energy spectra of GOCI-II from 2021 to 2023 are employed to investigate the characteristics of the CHL-a spatial energy spectrum slopes in three regions of the East China Sea, namely ...

The Image Characteristics for Perceived Naturalness

open access: yesi-Perception, 2011
To identify the visual characteristics that make a scene looks nature, we investigated the relationship between the distribution of spatial frequency spectrum of an image and its perceived naturalness.

Correlation plots of the Siberian Radioheliograph

open access: yesSolar-Terrestrial Physics, 2017
The Siberian Solar Radio Telescope [Grechnev et al., 2011] is now being upgraded. The upgrading is aimed at providing the aperture synthesis imaging in the 4–8 GHz frequency range [Lesovoi et al., 2011, 2014] instead of the single-frequency direct ...

Increasing the spatial resolution of signals in optical systems

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2022
Reconstruction of the signal in the intervals between discrete values is of great importance in solving the problem of spatial superresolution in optical microscopy and digital holography.

Cosmological Constraint from QSO Spatial Power Spectrum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we consider constraints on the cosmological density parameters from the spatial power spectrum of QSOs. We first review an analytic approach to the spatial power spectrum of QSOs, then we compare the result of the analytic approach with a preliminary result of the power spectrum from the two-degree Field QSO redshift (2QZ) survey.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Terahertz Spiral Spatial Filtering Imaging

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
In this paper, we propose a terahertz (THz) spiral spatial filtering (SSF) imaging method that can enable image contrast enhancement. The related theory includes three main steps: (1) the THz image of the target is Fourier transformed to the spatial ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Scene content is predominantly conveyed by high spatial frequencies in scene-selective visual cortex. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
In complex real-world scenes, image content is conveyed by a large collection of intertwined visual features. The visual system disentangles these features in order to extract information about image content. Here, we investigate the role of one integral
