Effects of spatial noncommutativity on energy spectrum of a trapped Bose-Einstein condensate

open access: yes, 2005
In noncommutative space, we examine the problem of a noninteracting and harmonically trapped Bose-Einstein condensate, and derive a simple analytic expression for the effect of spatial noncommutativity on energy spectrum of the condensate.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Influence of the Matrix Structure of the Modulator and Detector on the Optical Spectrum Analyzer Output Signal

open access: yesVìsnik Nacìonalʹnogo Tehnìčnogo Unìversitetu Ukraïni Kììvsʹkij Polìtehnìčnij Ìnstitut: Serìâ Radìotehnìka, Radìoaparatobuduvannâ, 2018
In this article, we investigate the physical and mathematical model of a coherent optical spectrum analyzer (COSA), which uses a matrix light modulator and a matrix detector as input and output devices.

Midgap spectrum of the fermion-vortex system

open access: yes, 2008
I study the midgap spectrum of the fermion-vortex system in two spatial dimensions. The existence of bound states, in addition to the zero modes found by Jackiw and Rossi, is established.

Checkpoint blockade and the stem‐like T cell trade‐off

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Stem‐like T cells are key to the success of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1) blockade, as they sustain long‐term anti‐tumor response by continuously generating effector CD8+ T cells. However, how these cells are maintained in cancer is not fully understood. Hor et al.

On the spectrum of inhomogeneous turbulence [PDF]

open access: yes
Inhomogeneous turbulence is defined as turbulence whose statistics are functions of spatial position. The turbulence spectrum, and particularly how the shape of the spectrum varies, from point to point in space, as a consequence of well defined spatial ...

A Non-Hermitean Particle in a Disordered World

open access: yes, 1997
There has been much recent work on the spectrum of the random non-hermitean Hamiltonian which models the physics of vortex line pinning in superconductors.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Spatial–Temporal Sensing and Utilization in Full Duplex Spectrum-Heterogeneous Cognitive Radio Networks for the Internet of Things

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The continuous growth of interconnected devices in the Internet of Things (IoT) presents a challenge in terms of network resources. Cognitive radio (CR) is a promising technology that can address the IoT spectral demands by enabling an opportunistic ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
