An overview on spectral and spatial information fusion for hyperspectral image classification: Current trends and challenges

Information Fusion, 2020
Hyperspectral images (HSIs) have a cube form containing spatial information in two dimensions and rich spectral information in the third one. The high volume of spectral bands allows discrimination between various materials with high details.

Recent Trends in Urban Spatial Structure

Growth and Change, 1980
Results of an investigation of the existence and significance of employment concentrations outside the central business districts of large metropolitan areas are presented. Trends in the intrametropolitan location of employment during te 1960s and early 1970s are examined by using small-area data for two points in time.

AntTrend: Stigmergetic Discovery of Spatial Trends

2006
Large amounts of spatially referenced data have been aggregated in various application domains such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), banking and retailing that motivate the highly demanding field of spatial data mining. So far many beneficial optimization solutions have been introduced inspired by the foraging behavior of ant colonies.

Spatial trajectories segmentation

Proceedings of the 5th ACM SIGSPATIAL International Workshop on Mobile Geographic Information Systems, 2016
Given a sequence S of temporally ordered observations, non necessarily of spatial nature, the segmentation task partitions S in a set of disjoint sub-sequences si, .., sn - the segments - such that ∪i∈[1, n]si = S. Typically, segments represents sub-sequences that are somehow homogeneous with respect to some criteria.

Spatial Patterns of Globalization Trends

2011
In the first part of this book, close attention has been paid to the importance of a regional analysis of globalization trends since these are expected to be spatially differentiated, and to have diverse impacts not only at the national, but especially at the regional level.

Monitoring Spatial Coverage of Trending Topics in Twitter

Proceedings of the 28th International Conference on Scientific and Statistical Database Management, 2016
Most messages posted in Twitter usually discuss an ongoing event, triggering a series of tweets that together may constitute a trending topic (e.g., #election2012, #jesuischarlie, #oscars2016). Sometimes, such a topic may be trending only locally, assuming that related posts have a geographical reference, either directly geotagging them with exact ...

Spatial Trend Analysis

2017
Spatial trend concept is very useful in order to depict the systematic variations of the phenomenon concerned over a region based on geographical locations or as in this book based on two independent variables that may be any other two event records.

Spatial, Generational and Gendered Trends and Trend-Breaks in Mobility

2013
Long-term trends and potential trend conversions in mobility are addressed, with special focus on the Swedish population. Consistent with observations of “peak travel” reported from other countries, we find that growth in everyday travel has recently stagnated and declined. Trends differ significantly between demographic groups.

Trends in spatial disorientation research.

Aviation, space, and environmental medicine, 2002
Trends in spatial disorientation (SD) research over the past six decades were assessed by means of a literature review using four databases and three SD-related search terms. 347 SD-related papers were identified, 37% of which were in three categories: attitude displays, SD training, and SD incidence.
