Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Spatiality First

open access: yes, 2021
International audienceSince the beginning of the twenty-first, francophone geography has shown a growing interest in spatiality, considered as the set of practices, skills and imaginations that allow any individual to regulate his or her relations of ...

Design principles for achieving spatiality in living space [PDF]

open access: yesArhitektura i Urbanizam, 2019
Achieving spatiality is one of the essential topics in designing living space meant to offer a higher level of space comfort. There are various methods to reach this objective: from neutralizing physical barriers in the interior, which would open the ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Mawson and Mirnyy Stations: the spatiality of the Australian Antarctic Territory, 1954-61

open access: yes, 2007
This article focuses on the spatiality of the Australian Antarctic Territory (AAT) in the important 1954-1961 period. Attending particularly to three key components of polar spatiality—geopolitics, international territorial law, and the built ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A test strategy for spurious spatial regression, spatial nonstationarity, and spatial cointegration [PDF]

open access: yesPapers in Regional Science, 2006
.  A test strategy consisting of a two-step Lagrange Multiplier test is suggested as a device to reveal spatial nonstationarity and spurious spatial regression. It is further illustrated how the test strategy can be used as a diagnostic for presence of a spatial cointegrating relationship between two variables. Using Monte Carlo simulations it is shown

Aborder « la religion » dans le monde romain aujourd’hui : paradigmes renouvelés et nouveaux outils

open access: yesPallas, 2019
The size of a paper prevents from an extensive picture of both the today heuristic tools used in history of ancient religions and their appropriateness for studying religion in Roman communities.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Spatiality and classical logic

open access: yes, 2011
In this short note we show that any proof of a general spatiality theorem for inductively generated formal topologies requires full classical ...
