Analyzing the impact of speaker localization errors on speech separation for automatic speech recognition [PDF]
We investigate the effect of speaker localization on the performance of speech recognition systems in a multispeaker, multichannel environment. Given the speaker location information, speech separation is performed in three stages.

Improving Localization and Speech Reception in Noise for Bilateral Cochlear Implant Recipients
This study looked at different methods to preserve interaural level difference (ILD) cues for bilateral cochlear implant (BiCI) recipients. One possible distortion to ILD is from automatic gain control (AGC).

Focusing and Frequency Smoothing for Arbitrary Arrays With Application to Speaker Localization
The coherent signal subspace method (CSSM) enables the direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation of coherent sources with subspace localization methods. The focusing process that aligns the signal subspaces within a frequency band to its central frequency is

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...
