Dysfunctional Prefrontal Regional Specialization and Compensation in Schizophrenia

American Journal of Psychiatry, 2006
It has been suggested that in healthy persons higher-order cognitive processing engaged by incremental working memory load hierarchically employs more dorsal than ventral prefrontal resources in healthy individuals. Given that working memory performance is impaired in schizophrenia, especially at higher executive loads, the authors investigated how ...

Special Features: Workers' Compensation Benefits

AMA Guides® Newsletter, 2005
Abstract The AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, (AMA Guides) specifies that impairment evaluation may be conducted by a treating or nontreating physician. A treating physician who is knowledgeable about the use of the AMA Guides may be the appropriate professional to evaluate impairment, but in cases that involve pain, disability ...

Compensation of Robot joint variables using special Jacobian matrices

Journal of Robotic Systems, 1991
AbstractIn dealing with an industrial manipulator, the end‐effector accuracy is a major concern. The positioning of the end effector is determined by the controller that utilizes the data from a closed‐form kinematic inversion. The closed‐form inversion uses nominal, i.e., manufacturer specified, values of link lengths, twists, and offsets.

Dispersion‐compensating photonic crystal fibers with special characteristics

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2008
AbstractBased on the modified dual core structure, three kinds of special photonic crystal fibers are presented, which are extremely large negative dispersion, super‐broad band, and large area mode field dispersion‐compensating photonic crystal fibers (DCPCF). For extremely large negative dispersion DCPCF, the peak of negative dispersion reaches −5.9 ×

Kalman Filter Compensation for a Special Class of Systems

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1977
Filter compensation techniques for several special but practical cases are discussed. A general set of bias and covariance equations for linear filters with modeling errors is first summarized. A method for relating the modeling errors to the selection of the covariance of "process noise" for model error compensation is suggested.
