Teaching scenarios and their role in the interdisciplinary approach. Case study: The Minkowskian Metric [PDF]
One of the demands of modern teaching is the interdisciplinary approach of cognitive subjects and in particular that of the natural sciences, with simultaneous engagement of teachers and students. At the same time, teaching scenarios seem to be gaining ground in the methodology of teaching and learning Mathematics in school.

A reconfigurable microneedle electrode array integrated system is developed for minimally invasive and transdermal monitoring of subcutaneous electromyography, reactive oxygen species, and pH values. By assembling discrete thumbtack‐shaped microneedles into an array, the system enables multi‐parameter detection with single‐microneedle resolution.

Current Trends in Evolving Specialization in UK Universities [PDF]
There are very significant changes taking place in the university sector and in related higher education institutes in many parts of the world. In this work we look at financial data from 2010 and 2011 from the UK higher education sector. Situating ourselves to begin with in the context of teaching versus research in universities, we look at the data ...

Nanoscale Curvature Regulates YAP/TAZ Nuclear Localization Through Nuclear Deformation and Rupture
This study uses experiments and biophysical modeling to examine the response and adaptation of cells to nanoscale topography of surfaces. It is shown that cytoskeletal assembly and nuclear localization of transcription regulatory factors such as yes‐associated protein (YAP) and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ‐binding motif (TAZ) can be tuned by ...

Mechanical Forces Guide Axon Growth through the Nigrostriatal Pathway in an Organotypic Model
Nano‐pulling is a magnetic nanoparticle‐based technology for guiding and promoting the axon growth of induced pluripotent stem cell‐derived dopaminergic neurospheres in vitro or neural progenitors transplanted in the brain tissue. Fine control of axon guidance is essential for reconstructing neural networks and restoring functional connectivity in the ...
