The US Special Forces

2015
Abstract The assassination of Osama bin Laden by SEAL Team 6 in May 2011 will certainly figure among the greatest achievements of US Special Forces. After nearly ten years of searching, they descended into his Pakistan compound in the middle of the night, killed him, and secreted the body back into Afghanistan.

Specialization and the Canadian forces

Defence and Peace Economics, 2005
Canada is facing a force structuring dilemma. In spite of Ottawa's desire to promote international peace and stability alongside the United States and the United Nations, Canada's minimalist approaches to defence spending and capital expenditures are undermining the long‐term viability of the Canadian Forces’ (CF) expeditionary and interoperable ...

Inertial Forces: The Special Relativistic Assessment

2004
Rotating observers and circular test particle orbits in Minkowski spacetime are used to illustrate the transport laws and derivative operators needed to define the various “inertial forces” one can introduce using the natural relative observer approach to describing spacetime.

Force measurement and force transformation in special relativity

American Journal of Physics, 1982
Relativistic dynamics has been historically built without an immediate connection to empirical operations. In order to test dynamic laws by experiment, it is necessary that at least one dynamic parameter be made measurable for moving systems. A method of force measurements applicable to moving systems is proposed.

The Conversion of the Special Forces

2009
Significant material, ideological, and rhetorical relations bound the American government’s military intervention in Vietnam with evangelical and humanitarian missionary projects. None were more involved in the program to “win the hearts and minds” of the Montagnards than the American Special Forces or “Green Beret” as they were popularly known.

Force and gravitation in special relativity

Il Nuovo Cimento B, 2006
Newton's second law is conventionally extrapolated by postulate from classical physics to special relativity as "force equals rate of change of relativistic momentum vector". Applied to calculate an orbital trajectory it predicts a perihelion advance one-third of the correct magnitude.
