On the Number of Linear Feedback Shift Registers With a Special Structure
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2012Given a primitive polynomial , of degree , we deal with the problem of finding the number of possible linear feedback shift register realizations, with m-input m-output delay elements, such that the corresponding characteristic polynomial is . We show the equivalence between these realizations and a set of specially structured matrices.

2009The Swedish Arthroplasty Registers were the first national arthroplasty registers and were initiated by the Swedish Orthopaedic Society. The comparison between a special shift register and a scaler for derandomization
Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1968The special shift register arrangement of Kemplay and Vernon is compared with a scaler as a means of derandomizing pulses before they are recorded on a magnetic tape recorder for rate measurement on replay. It is found that in any given instance a suitably chosen scaler has two major advantages.
