Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.

Relationship of membrane phospholipid composition, lactosylceramide molecular species, and the specificity of CMP-N-acetylneuraminate:lactosylceramide alpha 2,3-sialyltransferase to the molecular species composition of GM3 ganglioside.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1995
The ceramide molecular species specificity of rat brain neuron CMP-N-acetylneuraminate:lactosylceramide alpha 2,3-sialyltransferase (LacCer alpha 2,3-ST) was determined using 19 molecular species of lactosylceramide incorporated into liposomes prepared ...

Long non‐coding RNAs as therapeutic targets in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and clinical application

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) occupy an abundant fraction of the eukaryotic transcriptome and an emerging area in cancer research. Regulation by lncRNAs is based on their subcellular localization in HNSCC. This cartoon shows the various functions of lncRNAs in HNSCC discussed in this review.

Aging‐Driven Blood–Brain Barrier Dysfunction and Its Impact on CNS Cancer Susceptibility: A Comprehensive Narrative Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Aging weakens the blood–brain barrier (BBB), increasing susceptibility to CNS cancers and complicating treatment. This review examines BBB deterioration, its impact on drug delivery, and potential interventions like targeting neuroinflammation and advanced therapies.

Specificity of lipid transfer protein for molecular species of cholesteryl ester.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
The capacity of the plasma-derived lipid transfer protein to facilitate the transfer of various cholesteryl ester species has been investigated. Four different molecular species of cholesteryl ester were incorporated into either reconstituted high ...

DB3V: A Dialect Dominated Dataset of Bird Vocalisation for Cross-corpus Bird Species Recognition [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In ornithology, bird species are known to have variedit's widely acknowledged that bird species display diverse dialects in their calls across different regions. Consequently, computational methods to identify bird species onsolely through their calls face critsignificalnt challenges.

Effect of membrane lipids on the lactosylceramide molecular species specificity of CMP-N-acetylneuraminate:lactosylceramide sialyltransferase

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1993
It has previously been shown that when the molecular species specificity of rat liver Golgi CMP-N-acetylneuraminate:lactosylceramide alpha 2,3-sialyltransferase was determined, using as the substrate lactosylceramide (LacCer) incorporated into liposomes ...
