Evaluation of combining ability and gene action in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) using Line x Tester analysis

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2020
Eighteen hybrids generated from crossing six lines with three testers were studied along with their parents for combining ability and gene action involved in the expression of characters in barley to identify suitable parents and desirable hybrid ...

GENETIC STUDY OF BARLEY GERMINATION BEHAVIOUR II. GENERAL AND SPECIFIC COMBINING ABILITY [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Institute of Brewing, 1960
Ten barley varieties were grouped according to the rate and evenness of germination or “germination behaviour” of their seed. Varieties R1 and S2 constituted the rapid; M3, M4, M5, M6, M6, M7 and M8 the medium; and S9and S10 the slow groups. A diallele crossing test was performed, in which the ten varieties were crossed with each other to produce all ...

Multi‐omic characterization of consensus molecular subtype 1 (CMS1) colorectal cancer with dampened immune response improves precision medicine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of multi‐omic analyses in characterizing colorectal cancers. Indeed, our analysis revealed a rare CMS1 exhibiting dampened immune activation, including reduced PD‐1 expression, moderate CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, and suppressed JAK/STAT pathway.

Heterosis in maize single crosses derived from a yellow Tuxpeño variety in Brazil. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Most maize (Zea mays L.) crosses in Tropical regions use the heterotic pattern of Tupeno dent and Caribbean flint. Corsses between related lines are not used for commercial production.

Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...
