A comprehensive analysis of interleukin-4 receptor polymorphisms and their association with atopy and IgE regulation in childhood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Background: The interleukin (IL) 4/IL13 pathway is involved in the regulation of IgE production associated with atopic diseases. Numerous polymorphisms have been identified in the coding region of the IL4 receptor alpha chain (IL4Ra) and previous ...

The Very Low IgE Producer: Allergology, Genetics, Immunodeficiencies, and Oncology

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2023
Opposite to other immunoglobulin (Ig) classes and subclasses, there is no consensus on the definition of normal levels of serum total IgE. However, longitudinal studies on birth cohorts produced growth charts of total IgE levels in helminth-free and ...

Sensitization profiles to purified plant food allergens among pediatric patients with allergy to banana. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Banana fruit allergy is well known, but neither immunoglobulin E recognition patterns to purified plant food allergens nor true prevalences of putative banana allergens have been established. This study aimed to characterize β-1,3-glucanase and thaumatin-

Fish and shellfish allergy: Presentation and management differences in the UK and US—analysis of 945 patients

open access: yesJournal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: Global
Background: Seafood allergy (SA), including allergy to shellfish (crustacean and mollusks) and fish, is among the 4 most common food allergies causing anaphylaxis, but there are limited data showing SA clinical management in different countries ...

REAGIN-SPECIFIC RESPONSE TO INSULIN LEVEL IN CARBOHYDRATE METABOLISM DISORDERS IS DEPENDENT ON THE BLOOD GROUP ABO ANTIGENIC DETERMINANTS

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2018
The paper presents evidence that the individuals with different blood groups and glucose levels exhibit individual IgE reagin responses to insulin. Thus, the persons with 0 (I) blood group showed the highest values of anti-insulin-specific IgE (124.83±67.

Effect of heating and glycation on the allergenicity of 2S albumins (Ara h 2/6) from peanut [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Although no effect of processing on T-cell reactivity was observed, heat induced denaturation reduced the IgE reactivity and subsequent functionality of Ara h 2/6.

SALIVARY SPECIFIC IgE TO D1 AND G6 IN PATIENTS WITH RHINITIS WITH OR WITHOUT S. AUREUS COLONIZATION

open access: yesProblems of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases
Globally, allergic rhinitis impacts roughly 25% of children and 40% of adults. Immunoglobulin E (IgE) plays a crucial part in allergic inflammation, with two sources: spontaneously produced IgE, and IgE stemming from reactions to environmental allergens.

Diagnosis of Bronchial Asthma in Children 3–6 Years Old by Using Serum Periostin and Surrogate Markers of Eosinophilic Inflammation (Blood Eosinophils and Total IgE): a Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesВопросы современной педиатрии, 2019
Background. It is difficult to diagnose bronchial asthma (BA) in children under the age of 6 due to the limited ability to study respiratory function. Therefore, it is relevant to search for such diagnostic markers of BA that do not require the active ...

Total and specific immunoglobulin E in induced sputum in allergic and non-allergic asthma.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
BACKGROUND:Most patients with nonallergic asthma have normal serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels. Recent reports suggest that total and aeroallergen-specific IgE levels in induced sputum may be higher in nonallergic asthmatics than in healthy controls ...

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.
