The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The Third Spectrum of Indium: In III
The present investigation reports on the extended study of the third spectrum of indium (In III). This spectrum was previously analyzed in many articles, but, nevertheless, this study represents a significant extension of the previous analyses.

RESULTS OF THE STUDY OF HIGHLY EXCITED ATOMS OF THE UPPER ATMOSPHERE [PDF]
The results of Ionosonde data over Kamchatka during the emergence of D-layer at night are discussed. At the same time, the spectra of the night sky are represented at this period using a spectrum analyzer installed on Lidar Station of IKIR FEB RAS.

Super-Eddington fluxes during thermonuclear X-ray bursts
It has been known for nearly three decades that the energy spectra of thermonuclear X-ray bursts are often well-fit by Planck functions with temperatures so high that they imply a super-Eddington radiative flux at the emitting surface, even during ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Artifacts at 4.5 and 8.0 um in Short Wavelength Spectra from the Infrared Space Observatory
Spectra from the Short Wavelength Spectrometer (SWS) on ISO exhibit artifacts at 4.5 and 8 um. These artifacts appear in spectra from a recent data release, OLP 10.0, as spurious broad emission features in the spectra of stars earlier than ~F0, such as ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
