Two Chebyshev Spectral Methods for Solving Normal Modes in Atmospheric Acoustics

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
The normal mode model is important in computational atmospheric acoustics. It is often used to compute the atmospheric acoustic field under a time-independent single-frequency sound source.

Convergence Analysis of Spectral Collocation Methods for a Singular Differential Equation

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2003
Summary: Solutions of partial differential equations with coordinate singularities often have special behavior near the singularities, which forces them to be smooth. Special treatment for these coordinate singularities is necessary in spectral approximations in order to avoid degradation of accuracy and efficiency.

A Bone Marrow–Mimetic Hydrogel Enables Dual‐Phase Hemostasis and Vascularized Osteogenesis for Cranial Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic, fiber‐reinforced hydrogel (FE‐PDA@Fib/Gel‐TG) that enables dual‐phase cranial defect repair. The system provides: instant hemostasis in the early stage, and sustained co‐delivery of pro‐angiogenic and osteogenic signals for synergistic vascularized bone regeneration.

Pseudospectral method for semilinear partial functional differential equations [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2010
We present a convergence result for two spectral methods applied to an initial boundary value problem with functional dependence of Volterra type. Explicit condition of Courant-Friedrichs-Levy type is assumed on time step \(\tau \) and the number \(N ...

Multi-domain multivariate spectral collocation method for (2+1) dimensional nonlinear partial differential equations

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics, 2022
The novelty of this work rests upon the use of the domain partitioning technique in time variable when discretizing the domain of solution in spectral collocation algorithm.

CrossMatAgent: AI‐Assisted Design of Manufacturable Metamaterial Patterns via Multi‐Agent Generative Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
CrossMatAgent is a multi‐agent framework that combines large language models and diffusion‐based generative AI to automate metamaterial design. By coordinating task‐specific agents—such as describer, architect, and builder—it transforms user‐provided image prompts into high‐fidelity, printable lattice patterns.

Interaction of FXTAS Family History and College Degree Attainment Predicts Trajectories of Cognitive and Motor Symptoms in FMR1 Premutation Carrier Women

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present longitudinal study focuses on FMR1 premutation carrier women during midlife and early old age (n = 115). Bringing together the genetic risk factor of a family history of FXTAS and the environmental protective factor of higher education, the goal of the study was to determine how these factors potentially interact to predict self ...

A generalized spectral collocation method with tunable accuracy for variable-order fractional differential equations

open access: yes, 2015
We generalize existing Jacobi--Gauss--Lobatto collocation methods for variable-order fractional differential equations using a singular approximation basis in terms of weighted Jacobi polynomials of the form (1 ± ϰ)μPja,b(ϰ), where μ > -1.

‘It's all very well having a diverse curriculum, but if there is no curriculum, it can be as diverse as you like’: Precarity and decolonising in the neoliberal UK higher education system

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Drawing upon interview research across two academic departments as part of the early stages of a ‘decolonise the curriculum’ initiative at a Southern UK university, this study highlights a growing gulf between policy and practice in efforts to address systemic racial inequalities in UK universities. A reliance upon precarious labour, a culture

The situated professional: Preservice teachers' profiling of globally competent teachers and visions of their ‘possible professional self’

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract In response to globalisation, teacher education programmes worldwide are tasked with preparing globally competent teachers (GCTs). Prevailing conceptions of global competence are largely derived from Western‐centric humanistic, neoliberal and transformative narratives, creating a complex landscape for teacher identity formation.
