Optimized Schwarz methods for Maxwell's equations

open access: yes, 2009
Over the last two decades, classical Schwarz methods have been extended to systems of hyperbolic partial differential equations, using characteristic transmission conditions, and it has been observed that the classical Schwarz method can be convergent ...

A wavelet-based method for the determination of the relative resolution between remotely sensed images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Spatial resolution is a key parameter of all remote sensing satellites and platforms. The nominal spatial resolution of satellites is a well-known characteristic because it is directly related to the area in ground that represents a pixel in the detector.

Sparse spectral clustering method based on the incomplete Cholesky decomposition

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2013
AbstractA novel sparse spectral clustering method using linear algebra techniques is proposed. Spectral clustering methods solve an eigenvalue problem containing a graph Laplacian. The proposed method exploits the structure of the Laplacian to construct an approximation, not in terms of a low rank approximation but in terms of capturing the structure ...

Exploring Curvature Effects in Direct‐Written 3D Curved Hollow Magnetic Nanoshells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fabricated by a hybrid FEBID/CVD method, 3D PtC/Co3Fe core–shell heterostructures with engineered curvature and shell thickness exhibit complex reversal modes with axially symmetric N'eel‐type domain walls. XMCD‐PEEM combined with full‐scale micromagnetic simulations reveal how curvature and thickness govern the domain wall energy landscape and shape ...

Accounting for nonstationarity in the condition monitoring of wind turbine gearboxes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Increasing growth of wind turbine systems suggests a more systematic research around their design, operation and maintenance is needed. These systems operate under challenging enviromental conditions and failure of some of their parts, for the time being,

Spectral Tensor-Train Decomposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The accurate approximation of high-dimensional functions is an essential task in uncertainty quantification and many other fields. We propose a new function approximation scheme based on a spectral extension of the tensor-train (TT) decomposition.

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Hyperspectral and Multispectral Image Fusion via Neural Tensor Decomposition With Factor Alignment

open access: yesIEEE Access
Hyperspectral and multispectral image (HSI-MSI) fusion aims to generate high-resolution hyperspectral images (HR-HSI) by integrating a low-resolution hyperspectral image (LR-HSI) with a high-resolution multispectral image (HR-MSI).

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Deconvolution of optical spectra distorted by random noise using an artificial immune system

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2018
The deconvolution of a complex spectral contour into components by the algorithm of artificial immune system has been considered. It is the optimization method which is based on the behavior of the immune system. The random fractal noise has been used as
