Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Spectral density on the quaternionic Heisenberg group and a Green kernel for fractional powers of its Casimir-Laplacian

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
In this article, we introduce a new integral representation of the resolvent kernel for the Casimir-Laplacian on the quaternionic Heisenberg group which was obtained in [14] and then find its spectral density.

ACCOUNTING OF INSTRUMENTAL ERRORS IN THE CONTROL OF WINDINGS OF ELECTRICAL MACHINES WITH THE USE OF QUASI-PERIODIC TEST SIGNALS

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2018
The solution of problems of diagnostics of windings of electric machines is associated with the necessity of selection of quasi-periodic test signals against the background noise.

The Spectral Density of a Difference of Spectral Projections [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 2015
Let $H_0$ and $H$ be a pair of self-adjoint operators satisfying some standard assumptions of scattering theory. It is known from previous work that if $ $ belongs to the absolutely continuous spectrum of $H_0$ and $H$, then the difference of spectral projections $$D( )=1_{(-\infty,0)}(H- )-1_{(-\infty,0)}(H_0- )$$ in general is not compact and has

The Casimir spectrum revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We examine the mathematical and physical significance of the spectral density sigma(w) introduced by Ford in Phys. Rev. D38, 528 (1988), defining the contribution of each frequency to the renormalised energy density of a quantum field.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Native ultrametricity of sparse random ensembles

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate the eigenvalue density in ensembles of large sparse Bernoulli random matrices. We demonstrate that the fraction of linear subgraphs just below the percolation threshold is about 95\% of all finite subgraphs, and the distribution of linear ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Criteria for identification of the form and functional properties of the soil profile in georadiolocated studies by using georadar “Loza-B”

open access: yesБюллетень Почвенного института им. В.В. Докучаева, 2015
The valuable criteria for identification of the soil profile form and its some functional properties are considered as determined by interpretation of radarograms in the course of georadiolocated profiling of different territories using the geophysical ...

On the Effects of Structural Coupling on Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting Systems Subject to Random Base Excitation

open access: yesAerospace, 2020
The current research investigates the novel approach of coupling separate energy harvesters in order to scavenge more power from a stochastic point of view.
