Adaptive Depth Imaging With Single-Photon Detectors

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
For active optical imaging, the use of single-photon detectors can greatly improve the detection sensitivity of the system. However, the traditional maximum-likelihood based imaging method needs a long acquisition time to capture clear 3-D image at low ...

Orthogonal polarization spectral imaging

open access: yesPhysiological Research, 2007
The microcirculation plays a crucial role in the interaction between blood and tissues both in physiological and pathophysiological states. Despite its critical role in numerous diseases including diabetes, hypertension, sepsis or multiple organ failure, methods for direct visualization and quantitative assessment of human microcirculation at the ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Image fusion via feature residual and statistical matching

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2016
In view of the shortcoming of traditional image fusion based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT) with unclear textural information, an effective visible light and infrared image fusion algorithm via feature residual and statistical matching is proposed ...

Prediction of Weld Reinforcement Based on Vision Sensing in GMA Additive Manufacturing Process

open access: yesMetals, 2020
In the gas-metal-arc (GMA) additive manufacturing process, the shape of the molten pool, the temperature field of the workpiece and the heat dissipation conditions change with the increase of cladding layers, which can affect the dimensional accuracy of ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Imaging consecutive targets through scattering medium and around corners beyond the optical memory effect using untrained network

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
Limited by the existence of the optical Memory Effect(ME), the speckle correlation technique can only restore the target in a small angle of Field of View(FOV).

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Prior-free mixed speckle simplex separation strategy for multi-object imaging through thin scattering media beyond the optical memory effect

open access: yesAPL Photonics, 2023
The optical technique of imaging through scattering media based on the optical memory effect (OME) sustains a limited field-of-view (FOV). Therefore, a prior-free imaging method is proposed to reconstruct multiple objects through the scattering media ...
