The solar spectral irradiance since 1700 [PDF]
The change in the irradiance spectrum of the Sun from 1700 to the last solar minimum is determined and compared to the change in the spectrum between activity minimum and maximum. For this purpose we have used detailed model flux spectra of solar magnetic features.

Solar spectral irradiance variability in cycle 24: observations and models
Utilizing the excellent stability of the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI), we characterize both short-term (solar rotation) and long-term (solar cycle) changes of the solar spectral irradiance (SSI) between 265 and 500 nm during the ongoing cycle 24. We

The spectral effects of clouds on solar irradiance [PDF]
Knowledge of the spectral attenuation associated with clouds is important for accurate estimates of natural irradiance at the Earth's surface. We compare spectral measurements of visible downwelling irradiance, under varying sky conditions at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with results from a clear‐sky model.

Influence of the Solar Spectra Models on PACO Atmospheric Correction
The solar irradiance is the source of energy used by passive optical remote sensing to measure the ground reflectance and, from there, derive the ground properties.

Solar Irradiance Variability: Comparisons of Models and Measurements
The Earth system responds to solar variability on a wide range of timescales. Knowledge of total solar irradiance (TSI) and solar spectral irradiance (SSI) spanning minutes to centuries is needed by scientists studying a broad array of research ...

Spectral (direct) solar irradiance at Pune
Direct Solar Irradiation (DSI) measurements are made with pyrheliometers. When used with selected filters, the spectral distribution can be worked out. Measurements at Pune indicate that large scale attenuation takes place in blue-green region of solar spectrum likely due to aerosol particles injected by industrial advancement over the region ...

Solar resource assessment with a solar spectral irradiance meter [PDF]
The SSIM prototype was designed at the University of Ottawa as a cost-effective alternative to a field spectrora-diometer. The instrument was installed at the University of Ottawa’s CPV testing facility in September, 2013, collecting the environmental and spectral data from October, 2013 to March, 2014.

Optimization of moth-eye antireflection schemes for silicon solar cells [PDF]
Nanostructured moth-eye antireflection schemes for silicon solar cells are simulated using rigorous coupled wave analysis and compared to traditional thin film coatings. The design of the moth-eye arrays is optimized for application to a laboratory cell (

Reference solar irradiance spectra and consequences of their disparities in remote sensing of the ocean colour [PDF]
Satellite ocean colour missions require a standard extraterrestrial solar irradiance spectrum in the visible and near-infrared (NIR) for use in the process of radiometric calibration, atmospheric correction and normalization of water-leaving radiances
