Performance weighted blended spectrogram

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America
Spectrograms are used for time-frequency analysis and as preprocessing for signal classifiers and other algorithms. The conventional spectrogram is a tapered short-time Fourier transform, equivalent to a bank of bandpass filters. The taper defines filter-bank characteristics such as bandwidth and sidelobe levels.

Spectrograms and generalized spectrograms for classification of random processes

ICASSP '84. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
A maximum likelihood (ML) classifier for discriminating between nonstationary Gaussian time series can be implemented by correlating the data spectrogram with templates that are constructed from ensemble average reference spectrograms. The time window used to synthesize the spectrograms must have a duration that is longer than the decorrelation time of

Phase spectrogram and frequency spectrogram as new diagnostic tools

Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, 2007
Abstract The power spectrogram has found wide use in diagnostics based on mechanical vibrations. It makes use of the amplitude values of the Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) but does not consider the information contained in the phase values.

Automatic precision measurement of spectrograms

Applied Optics, 1978
A fully automatic comparator has been designed and implemented to determine precision wavelengths from high-resolution spectrograms. The accuracy attained is superior to that of an experienced operator using a semiautomatic comparator with a photoelectric setting device.

Gauss – Hermite Spectrogram

2007
The most widely used methods for time- frequency analysis belong to Cohen’s class of spectrogram estimators. Wigner–Ville distribution (WVD) and multiwindow time -frequency analysis are the most popular techniques. One serious limitation of Wigner distribution is that it produces cross-terms of large magnitudes.

On accumulated spectrograms

2014
We study the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the time-frequency localization operator $H_ $ on a domain $ $ of the time-frequency plane. The eigenfunctions are the appropriate prolate spheroidal functions for an arbitrary domain $ $. Indeed, in analogy to the classical theory of Landau-Slepian-Pollak, the number of eigenvalues of $H_ $ in $[1- ,

The Schematic Spectrogram

1989
In the previous chapters we have seen how to obtain a well-behaved representation of the the speech energy, with a choice of the time and frequency scales of interest. For the next step we are faced with a methodological decision. If we are willing to make strong assumptions about the signal early on, then we can use those constraints in some detection
