Electrode‐assisted desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2010
AbstractA new ion source has been developed for rapid, noncontact analysis of materials at ambient conditions. The method provides desorption of analytes under ambient conditions directly from different surfaces with little or no sample preparation. The new method, termed electrode‐assisted desorption electrospray ionization (EADESI), is on the basis ...

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

2001
Abstract Characterization of protein-ligand interactions involves the determination of stoichiometry, affinity, and conformational changes associated with such interactions. Mass spectrometry is rapidly emerging as an important and powerful new tool in this area to complement the wealth of other techniques described in these volumes. The

Synchronized Desorption Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry Imaging

Analytical Chemistry, 2015
Desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) has emerged as a powerful technique for mass spectral analysis and imaging under ambient conditions. Synchronization of DESI (sDESI) with the ion injection period (IT)of low-duty cycle mass spectrometers has been previously shown to improve sensitivity and reduce the amount of sample depleted during the ...

Surfactants Usable for Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry

Analytical Biochemistry, 2000
Surfactants suppress the electrospray ionization (ESI) of various compounds. Here we demonstrate that fluorinated surfactants such as perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOSA) could be employed for ESI-MS without a significant decrease in sensitivity.

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry fingerprinting of beer

The Analyst, 2005
After just simple degassing, dilution, pH adjustment and direct flow injection, characteristic fingerprint spectra of beer samples have been obtained by fast (few seconds) electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) analysis in both the negative and positive ion modes.

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry fingerprinting of propolis

The Analyst, 2004
Crude ethanolic extracts of propolis, a natural resin, have been directly analysed using electrospray ionization mass (ESI-MS) and tandem mass spectrometry (ESI-MS/MS) in the negative ion mode. European, North American and African samples have been analyzed, but emphasis has been given to Brazilian propolis which displays diverse and region-dependent ...

Ion suppression effect in desorption electrospray ionization and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, 2017
Rationale Although it is claimed that desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) causes less ion suppression effects than electrospray ionization (ESI), a related investigation with quantification measurement of ion suppression effects is absent.

Determination of micelle mass by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2005
AbstractBy electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectrometry, micelle solutions of sodium cholate were investigated in detail in the presence and absence of ethanol. The average aggregation number could be evaluated from the spectra acquired under conditions where soft collisions adequate to measure the micelle solution were induced, and the value agreed
