Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...

Effects related to deposition temperature of ZnCoO films grown by Atomic Layer Deposition - uniformity of Co distribution, structural, optical, electrical and magnetic properties

open access: yes, 2011
In the present study we report on properties of ZnCoO films grown at relatively low temperature by the Atomic Layer Deposition, using two reactive organic zinc precursors (dimethylzinc and diethylzinc).

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Morphology and Photoluminescence of HfO2Obtained by Microwave-Hydrothermal

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2009
In this letter, we report on the obtention of hafnium oxide (HfO2) nanostructures by the microwave-hydrothermal method. These nanostructures were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission gum scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM), transmission

Effect of copper additions to HerculesTM and Type 316 stainless steel [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
Copper additions of approximately 20 wt% were added to Mintek’s cost effective low nickel austenitic stainless steel HerculesTM alloy, as well as to an anti-pathogen stainless steel of Lui et al.

Neutron Energy Spectrum Measurements with a Compact Liquid Scintillation Detector on EAST

open access: yes, 2013
A neutron detector based on EJ301 liquid scintillator has been employed at EAST to measure the neutron energy spectrum for D-D fusion plasma. The detector was carefully characterized in different quasi-monoenergetic neutron fields generated by a 4.5 MV ...

Influence of Surface Finish on the Tribological Performance of AlTiBN Coatings Deposited on Forming Tools

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Aluminum and nitride coatings are used in industry because they are hard, resist wear, and protect against oxidation. Adding boron can improve friction behavior and other properties. This study tests coatings on surfaces with different finishes. Results show smoother surfaces perform better, while rough ones wear faster, although coatings can reduce ...
