Biodegradable 3D‐Printable and Coatable Antifouling Composites for Marine Applications

Marine biofouling damages submerged surfaces and raises greenhouse gas emissions. Biodegradable antifouling biocomposites were developed by hot‐mixing beeswax, Tween 80, and calcium stearate or stearic acid. Adjusting the component ratio enables processing via hot‐pressing, 3D‐printing, or dip‐coating.

X-ray Spectrometry and imaging for ancient handwritten document

We detected handwritten characters in ancient documents from several centuries with different synchrotron x-ray imaging techniques. The results were correlated to those of x-ray fluorescence analysis.

Transition-edge sensors for particle-induced X-ray emission spectrometry

A transition-edge sensor array has been applied to particle-induced X-ray emission. We have characterized the detector for quantitative analysis and obtained minimum detection limit over two orders of magnitude better compared to a silicon drift detector.
