Spectrophotometric determination of thiambutosine
The Analyst, 1975N-(4-Butoxyphenyl)-N′-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)thiourea (thiambutosine) is made to react with 2,3-dichloro-1,4-naphthoquinone in an ethanolic medium and on rendering the reaction mixture alkaline with ethanolic ammonia solution a purple colour is developed with an absorption maximum at 540 nm. A procedure based on this reaction is described for the assay

Spectrophotometric determination of EDTA
Talanta, 1971Both iron(III) and its EDTA complex in 0-1N H(2)SO(4) medium absorb in the ultraviolet region of the spectrum, with absorption maxima at 305 and 258 nm respectively. EDTA can thus be determined by addition of excess of Fe(III) and measurement of the absorbance at the two wavelengths. An EDTA concentration as low as 10(-6)M can be determined with a fair

Spectrophotometric determination of clofibrate
Talanta, 1987A sensitive method for the rapid and accurate determination of clofibrate by hydroxamic acid formation is described. Hydroxylamine hydrochloride is reacted with clofibrate in alkaline medium to give 4-chlorophenoxyisobutyrohydroxamic acid, which forms a purple complex with iron(III) in acidic medium. Common excipients do not interfere.

Spectrophotometric determination of muzolimine
Talanta, 1988Five simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric procedures for the determination of muzolimine in bulk samples and pharmaceutical dosage forms are described. The methods are based on the formation of coloured species when muzolimine is reacted with 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone hydrochloride, p-N,N-dimethylphenylenediamine dihydrochloride ...

The spectrophotometric determination of Ampicillin
The Analyst, 1967A method is described for the determination of Ampicillin (α-amino-benzyl penicillin) based on the spectrophotometric measurement at 320 mµ of a compound formed by acid degradation of the penicillin at 75° C in the presence of buffer solution at pH 5·2 and a trace of a copper salt.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Pivampicillin Hydrochloride
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1974A spectrophotometric method for the determination of pivampicillin hydrochloride is described based on the colorimetric reaction of chromotropic acid with formaldehyde, which is formed in a stoichiometric quantity on hydrolysis of pivampicillin hydrochloride. The analytical results are compared with those obtained by traditional methods.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Aluminium and Nickel
Annali di Chimica, 2004AbstractA simple spectrophotometric method, based on the complexes with xylenol orange (XO) and EDTA, is presented for the rapid determination of aluminium and nickel, respectively, in synthetic samples of hydrotalcite. The method only requires the solubilization in sulphuric acid of the inorganic material before the ligand addition.

Spectrophotometric methods for the determination of manganese
Talanta, 1990A comprehensive and critical review of the available spectrophotometric methods for the determination of manganese is presented. Details are given of a wide range of direct colour-forming reactions of manganese with organic ligands, which have been claimed to be of use in analysis for the metal. The use of the very sensitive kinetic methods of analysis

Spectrophotometric determination of aluminium by morin
Talanta, 1995A direct spectrophotometric method for the determination of aluminium with morin has been developed. Morin reacts in slightly acidic 50% ethanolic media (0.0001-0.0015 M H(2)SO(4)) with Al to give a deep-yellow chelate which has an absorption maximum at 421 nm. The average molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity were found to be 5.3 x 10(3) l mol(-

Spectrophotometric Determination of Morphine and of Codeine *
Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1954Morphine can be distinguished from codeine by the shift of the maximum absorption value of morphine in alkaline medium from that in acid medium. Two spectrophotometric methods, the absolute and the relative methods, are presented for the determination of morphine and of codeine. Equations are given for the calculation of the concentrations of alkaloids
