SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF BLOOD OXYGEN
Gasometric methods for estimating blood oxygen are time-consuming. This consideration often limits the number of observations which can be made in the course of experiments requiring oxygen determinations. In many cases it is an arteriovenous difference which is particularly desired, as in the measurement of cardiac output by the Fick principle, or the

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF NITRAZEPAM IN TABLETS [PDF]
A sensitive spectrophotometric method is reported for the determination of nitrazepam either in pure form or in tablets. The method is based on reduction with zinc dust and calcium chloride followed by reaction with sodium pentacyanoaminoferrate(II) to give a violet product having an absorbance maximum at 560 nm.

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Spectrophotometric determination of leukocytes in blood [PDF]
AbstractThe determination of leukocyte concentration in human blood depending on the detection of oxidized o‐dianisidine in acidic solution is studied. The oxidation of o‐dianisidine was carried out by peroxidase enzymes found in leukocytes. The reaction was stopped by the addition of 4N H2SO4 to the solution, and a very stable, colored o‐dianisidine ...

The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

A Sensitive Validated Spectrophotometric Method for the Determination of Flucloxacillin Sodium
A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been proposed for the determination of flucloxacillin sodium. The determination method is based on charge transfer complexation reaction of the drug with iodine in methanol-dichloromethane medium.
