Determination of cadmium by atomic-fluorescence and atomic-absorption spectrophotometry

Talanta, 1966
The adaptation of a conventional atomic-absorption/flameemission spectrophotometer to the measurement of atomic-fluorescence in an air-acetylene flame is described. The determination of cadmium on the same instrument by both atomic-fluorescence and absorption shows that, even with a rather simple and inefficient means of exciting and measuring ...

Atomic absorption spectrophotometry of antimony

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1969
Abstract The atomic absorption of antimony in combination with extraction of the chloride complex provides a suitable determination of antimony in various materials. The effect of variables on antimony absorption and the extraction of antimony were studied.

Determination of chromium in feces by atomic absorption spectrophotometry

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1974
Abstract A new method for the determination of chromium (Cr) which is used as a continuous fecal marker for metabolic balance studies is presented. Specimens are processed in triplicate, treated with 2% ammonium chloride, and the concentration of Cr is read off in an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). The method yields excellent results, e.g.

Determination of mercury by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry

Talanta, 1981
A flameless atomic-absorption system has been developed for the determination of low concentrations of mercury in gaseous, solid and liquid samples of organic and inorganic materials.

Atomic absorption spectrophotometry in quantitative histochemistry

The Histochemical Journal, 1977
Histochemists have acknowledged the need for quantitation in their discipline, and a majority of them report their histochemical findings with some quantitative information (Anderson & Glenner, 1973; Rosenquist, 1976). It seems to be the consensus of the histochemistry fraternity that 'direct' histochemical quantitation is the most satisfactory method,

Determination of serum copper with atomic absorption spectrophotometry

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1969
Abstract Composition of a copper standard solution for atomic absorption spectrophotometry was devised. Addition of ethylene glycol and histidine hydrochloride to the standard solution is effective to obtain accurate results in a simple dilution of serum. Viscosity and conditions of ionization of the sample are discussed.

Determination of copper in foods by atomic absorption spectrophotometry

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1970
AbstractA method for determining copper in a wide range of foods by atomic absorption spectrophotometry is described and shown to be reliable and sensitive. It is shown that, when copper is chelated and extracted into ketone, very high sensitivity may be achieved; copper in aqueous extracts can be determined at a level of 0.003 ppm. The main problem of

Indirect determination of iodate by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry

Talanta, 1989
An indirect method for determination of trace iodate in certain high-purity chemicals by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) is described. Iodate forms a stable ion-association complex [Hg(dipy)(2)](IO(3))(2) in neutral medium, which can be extracted into methyl isobutyl ketone with 99% efficiency.

Determination of metals in phospholipids by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry

Talanta, 1969
A procedure is described for the determination of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and manganese in phospholipids by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry. The method uses a solution of phospholipid in isopentyl acetate; phosphate interference is controlled by the addition of aqueous lanthanum chloride solution homogenized with ethanol.

Determination of vanadium and molybdenum by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry

Talanta, 1973
A method is described for the determination by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry of vanadium and molybdenum, up to the milligram level, in samples of yellow cake, uranium-bearing minerals and geochemical standards. After attack with acids these two elements are separated from each other and from matrix elements by means of anion-exchange in 6M ...
