Assessing variability of literature based methane indicator traits in a large dairy cow population

open access: yesBiotechnologie, Agronomie, Société et Environnement, 2015
Description of the subject. Dairy production is identified as a major source of methane (CH4) emissions. Selective breeding represents one method for mitigating CH4 emissions but practical and cheap ways to measure this trait are not currently available.

Correlated Ground-based and IUE Observations [PDF]

open access: yes
The value of coordination among different observers particularly, those working in different wavelength regions is highlighted. This coordination is more important among observers of comets than among observers of almost any other class of astronomical ...

Surface Properties of Electrode Materials: A Key Factor Affecting the Catalytic Activity of Redox Mediators in Li–O2 Battery Discharge

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
This work investigates how the surface properties of oxygen cathodes influence the catalytic performance of redox mediators in Li–O2 batteries. The results conclusively demonstrate that electrodes with more surface defects promote parasitic reactions and lead to the accumulation of insulating discharge products, severely impairing electron transfer and

Efficient Removal of Cd(II) and PB(II) Ions Using Innovatively Functionalized Poly(2,5‐Dihydro‐2,5‐Dimethoxyfuran) for Water Treatment Applications

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 46, December 10, 2025.
Synthesis and surface functionalization of pDHMF for enhanced Cd(II) and Pb(II) adsorption from water. ABSTRACT In this work, a novel polymeric adsorbent was synthesized via the cationic polymerization of cis, trans‐2,5‐dihydro‐2,5‐dimethoxyfuran (DHMF), a renewable monomer derived from biomass. To improve its adsorption performance, synthesized poly(2,

Mimicking Synaptic Plasticity: Optoionic MoS2 Memory Powered by Biopolymer Hydrogels as a Dynamic Cations Reservoir

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 50, December 9, 2025.
Janus (MoS2) transistors functionalized with sodium alginate (SA) and poly(vinylidene fluoride‐co‐trifluoroethylene) [P(VDF‐TrFE)] exhibit persistent photo‐induced ionic gating, driven by dynamic cation migration at the hybrid interface. This ionic mechanism enables finely tunable photoconductivity and emulates key synaptic plasticity behaviors ...

Chemometric Methods Applied to Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy for Arboviruses Diagnosis: A Systematic Review With Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 6, Issue 2, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Arboviruses such as dengue, Zika, chikungunya and yellow fever share similar clinical manifestations, making differential diagnosis challenging, particularly in endemic regions with viral co‐circulation. Conventional laboratory methods present important limitations, including cross‐reactivity and reliance on specialized infrastructure. In this

Advanced Electrochemical Genosensor for Zika Virus Detection in Biological Samples Based on Cysteamine‐Graphene Quantum Dots Bilayer

open access: yesElectroanalysis, Volume 37, Issue 12, December 2025.
An electrochemical biosensor for Zika virus (ZIKV) detection is described. A DNA probe was immobilized on a gold electrode. After hybridization with the target (ZIKV), safranin was used as an intercalating indicator. Detection was performed by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), where the current signal increases with the target concentration.
