A new multichannel near infrared spectrophotometry system for functional studies of the brain in adults and neonates.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2005
We have designed a versatile, multi-channel near-infrared spectrophotometry (NIRS) instrument for the purpose of mapping neuronal activation in the neonatal and adult brain in response to motor, tactile, and visual stimulation.

T1WI‐SWI Dual Modal Magnetic Resonance Nanoprobes for Accurate Diagnosis of Early Stage Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a smart MRI nanoprobe targeting BACE1 and Aβ plaques. It crosses the blood‐brain barrier. Upon encountering BACE1, the probe is cleaved, enabling T1WI imaging detection. Subsequent reaction with ONOO− induces probe aggregation, enhancing magnetic susceptibility for sensitive SWI imaging of Aβ plaques.

Targeting NRP1 in Endothelial Cells Facilitates the Normalization of Scar Vessels and Prevents Fibrotic Scarring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Scars exhibit vascular abnormal alterations, including upregulated NRP1 expression in endothelial cells, increased vascular density and branching, compromised vessel wall integrity, and incomplete pericyte coverage. Therapeutic targeting of NRP1 through hydrogel spray delivery offers a promising approach to normalize aberrant vasculature and prevent ...

The quantitative analysis of polyvinylpyrrolidone by infrared spectrophotometry

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1971
Abstract The quantitative assay of the binding agent polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) in granules of magnesium carbonate has been shown to be possible. The method is to determine the infrared absorption spectrum of a chloroform extract. Quantities of PVP down to 0·1 mg can be successfully assayed to ±1 % in solution as dilute as 0·1 % w/v.

A Robust Synthesis of Fluorosurfactants with Tunable Functionalities via a Two‐Step Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The fluorosurfactants are synthesized through a two‐step reaction, and demonstrated excellent performance in droplet microfluidics. In addition, they exhibited tunable functionalities at the droplet interface via hydrogen bonding and coordination interactions.

Self‐Assembled Dictamni Cortex Nanoparticles Ameliorate Psoriasis by Epigenetic Modulation of HSP90AB1 and Suppression of the Inflammatory Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops self‐assembled Dictamni Cortex (BXP)‐Fe(III) infinite coordination polymer nanoparticles (NB) to improve BXP's solubility and bioavailability for psoriasis. NB transdermally treats psoriasis by targeting the epigenetic regulator CTCF (CCCTC‐binding factor), suppressing HSP90AB1 (heat shock protein 90 alpha family class B member 1 ...

A z=5.34 Galaxy Pair in the Hubble Deep Field [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We present spectrograms of the faint V-drop (V(606) = 28.1, I(814) = 25.6) galaxy pair HDF3-951.1 and HDF3-951.2 obtained at the Keck II Telescope. Fernandez-Soto, Lanzetta, & Yahil (1998) derive a photometric redshift of z(ph) = 5.28 (+0.34,-0.41; 2 ...
