Analysis of 3‐nitropropionic acid in Fabaceae plants by HPLC‐MS/MS

open access: yesPhytochemical Analysis, Volume 33, Issue 8, Page 1205-1213, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Introduction 3‐Nitropropionic acid (3‐NPA) is a toxic compound that can accumulate in esterified form in the Fabaceae family. In the Lotae tribe, many species have been identified as 3‐NPA producers (e.g., Securigera varia), while some of the genetically close Lotae plants were formerly reported as 3‐NPA‐free (e.g., Lotus corniculatus and ...

Improved Gold Nanoprobes for Detection of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms: The Influence of Size

open access: yesParticle &Particle Systems Characterization, Volume 39, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Unique plasmonic properties of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are used for detection of a single nucleotide polymorphism related to lactose intolerance. Assays based on 20 nm and 35 nm AuNPs functionalized with specific oligonucleotide probes are compared and found that 35 nm AuNPs allow a reduction of 80% and 48% in the amount of gold and oligonucleotide ...

Efficient Ternary Organic Photovoltaic Films for Fast Exciton Separation to Generate Free Radicals for Wastewater Treatment

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
For the first time, application results are reported at the intersection of organic photovoltaics and photocatalysis: An insertion strategy based on morphology modulation is proposed to reduce the π–π stacking distance, improve charge transport, and increase device efficiency. Ternary organic photovoltaic films were applied to wastewater treatment, and

Effectiveness of Unripe Plantain Peel on Tenderization of Beef and Okra as a Potential Substitute for Saltpeter

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This research seeks to examine the effect of unripe plantain peel ash and its filtrate on the tenderness of beef and okra as a potential substitute for saltpeter. Using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, important elemental particles were estimated while the texture profile of treated okra and beef was assessed using the TA‐XT Plus Micro ...
