Spectroscopic characteristics of humates isolated from different soils

open access: yesSoil and Water Research, 2011
Spectral characterisation of soil humic substances is one of the important methods for their quality identification. In this work, two optical methods (UV-VIS and SFS) were used.

Spectroscopic and lasing characteristics of samarium doped glass fibre [PDF]

open access: yesIEE Proceedings J Optoelectronics, 1990
The fluorescence spectra of trivalent samarium doped glass fibres are described. In silica glass Sm3+ has a narrow fluorescence of 2.2 nm f.w.h.m. at a wavelength of 650 nm. The influence of fluorescence line narrowing and large external electric fields on this line is reported.

Magnetic and spectroscopic characteristics of ZnMnO system

open access: yesApplied Surface Science, 2005
We report on the observation of room-temperature ferromagnetism in epitaxial (Zn,Mn)O films grown by a pulsed-laser deposition technique using high-density targets. The X-ray, microscopic, spectroscopic and magnetic properties of target material containing 6 at.% of Mn and films were compared.

Comparative Study of Gemological and Spectroscopic Features and Coloration Mechanism of Three Types of Spodumene

open access: yesCrystals
Spodumene is a characteristic mineral in lithium-rich granitic pegmatites, serving both as a valuable mineral resource and an important gem material. This study incorporates three different color varieties of spodumene—pink to violet, yellow-green, and ...

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Vision-Based Online Molten Pool Image Acquisition and Assessment for Quality Monitoring in Gas–Metal Arc Welding

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In gas–metal arc welding (GMAW), the welding quality is influenced by various factors, including the welding conditions and external environment. Achieving a high welding quality requires careful observation and control. Welding monitoring is crucial for

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
