Spatially Resolved Spectrum of the Vela PWN [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 2004
A series of 13 Chandra observations has provided the deepest images of the Vela PWN yet available. In addition to the fine structure of the inner PWN features, a much larger and fainter asymmetric X-ray nebula emerges in the summed images. The shape of this outer PWN is similar to that of the radio PWN.

Spatially Resolved Dynamic Eigenmode Spectrum of Co Rings [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2006
The spatially resolved eigenmode spectrum of micrometer-sized Co ring elements has been determined by means of combined vector network analyzer ferromagnetic resonance and time resolved magneto-optic Kerr effect measurements. Up to 5 resonant eigenmodes were observed in the frequency range from 45 MHz to 20 GHz as a function of an external magnetic ...

Resolving the Peak of the Black Hole Mass Spectrum

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2022
Abstract Gravitational-wave (GW) detections of binary black hole (BH) mergers have begun to sample the cosmic BH mass distribution. The evolution of single stellar cores predicts a gap in the BH mass distribution due to pair-instability supernovae (PISNe).

Time-resolved optical measurements with spread spectrum excitation [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2002
We propose a novel method for measuring time-dependent optical quantities. A train of excitation pulses modulated by a pseudorandom bit sequence is used as the light source, and a cross-correlation scheme is used to retrieve the impulse response. Simulation results of the temporal point-spread function of a diffusive wave are provided, as well as ...

Localizable spectrum and bounded local resolvent functions [PDF]

open access: yesArchiv der Mathematik, 2008
Given a Banach space operator with interior points in the localizable spectrum and without non-trivial divisible subspaces, this article centers around the construction of an infinite-dimensional linear subspace of vectors at which the local resolvent function of the operator is bounded and even admits a continuous extension to the closure of its ...

Rotationally resolved electronic spectrum of propadienylidene

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 2005
Abstract The rotationally resolved electronic spectrum of a vibrational band in the A ˜ 1 A 2 – X ˜ 1 A 1 transition of the cumulene carbon chain C 3 H 2 was measured in the 625 nm region in a supersonic discharge using cw cavity ring down spectroscopy. The rotational structure was analysed using

Phase-resolved spectrum of the Crab pulsar from NICER [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2021
Context. Studies of the high-energy emission regions of rotation-powered pulsars are typically based on folded light curves (FLCs) and phase-resolved spectra (PRS). Aims. This work uses the NICER observatory to obtain the highest resolution FLC and PRS of the Crab pulsar at soft X-ray energies. Methods.

Spatial tomography of light resolved in time, spectrum, and polarization

open access: yesSmart Photonic and Optoelectronic Integrated Circuits 2023, 2022
AbstractMeasuring polarisation, spectrum, temporal dynamics, and spatial complex amplitude of optical beams is essential to studying phenomena in laser dynamics, telecommunications and nonlinear optics. Current characterisation techniques apply in limited contexts. Non-interferometric methods struggle to distinguish spatial phase, while phase-sensitive

Time-resolved optical spectrum for transient resonant light scattering [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1994
A general formula of the time-resolved optical spectrum for transient resonant light scattering is derived systematically by means of the operator algebra within the formalism of nonequilibrium thermo field dynamics (NETFD). The formula is applied to an analytically solvable model of the localized electron and phonon system, i.e., second-order light ...

Time and spectrum-resolving multiphoton correlator for 300–900 nm [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2014
We demonstrate a single-photon sensitive spectrometer in the visible range, which allows us to perform time-resolved and multi-photon spectral correlation measurements at room temperature. It is based on a monochromator composed of two gratings, collimation optics, and an array of single photon avalanche diodes. The time resolution can reach 110 ps and
