Resolving the Near-Infrared Spectrum of Articular Cartilage
CARTILAGE, 2021Objective Spectroscopic techniques, such as near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, are gaining significant research interest for characterizing connective tissues, particularly articular cartilage, because there is still a largely unmet need for rapid, accurate and objective methods for assessing tissue integrity in ...

The spectrum of ?-resolvable designs with block size four
Journal of Combinatorial Designs, 2001A design is called \(\alpha\)-resolvable if its blocks can be partitioned into disjoint classes such that each point is on exactly \(\alpha\) blocks of any given class. The authors prove that the necessary arithmetic conditions for the existence of an \(\alpha\)-resolvable design with block size 4 are also sufficient, with the single exception of ...

This chapter introduces the notion of the spectrum of an operator (possibly unbounded) on a Hilbert space. The theory of the resolvent operator is developed and used to establish basic properties of the spectrum.

The first rotationally resolved spectrum of CH4+
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1999The pulsed-field-ionization (PFI) zero-kinetic-energy (ZEKE) photoelectron spectra of CH4 and CD4 have been recorded in the region 100880–104100 cm−1. From the analysis of the photoelectron spectra the first adiabatic ionization potential of CH4 and CD4 has been determined to be (101773±35) cm−1 and (102210±25) cm−1, respectively.

Vibrationally resolved photoelectron spectrum of ZnBr−
Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 2019Abstract Determination of the vibrational frequency of the ZnBr radical has been elusive, having previously been reported as 220 cm−1 and 318 cm−1 by different investigators. Recently, Burton and Ziurys reported a rotational spectrum of ZnBr from which they were able to estimate a harmonic frequency of 284 cm−1 and an anharmonicity of 1.0 cm−1.
