Spectrum Allocation for Multiuser Terahertz Communication Systems: A Machine Learning Approach

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
In this paper, we propose a novel spectrum allocation design, leveraging machine learning, for multiuser communication systems operating at the terahertz (THz) band.

Efficient Allocation of Radio Spectrum

open access: yesJournal of Public Economic Theory, 2013
AbstractLegislative reforms in Anglo‐American countries require governments to account for efficient spectrum usage subject to interference control. New spectrum governance regimes promote flexible and competitive usage but the broadcasting industry remains exempt from reforms, at a significant cost to society. The need to liberalize broadcast spectrum

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

Passivated SiC Surfaces for Photonic and Quantum Applications: Balancing Chemical Stability and Surface Luminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Low‐temperature passivation of SiC reveals that optical surface quality and chemical stability are not directly correlated. Ar plasma‐treated and SiNx‐passivated surfaces yield the lowest photoluminescence background, whereas CF4 plasma and ALD‐grown dielectrics introduce higher emission.

Hybrid Continuum Robot Designs and Architectures for Healthcare Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Hybrid continuum robots represent an emerging class of flexible manipulators that blend materials, structures, and actuation concepts from the established fields of soft and continuum robotics. This review introduces an accessible framework to distinguish key hybridization approaches, surveys current designs aimed at complex clinical applications, and ...

PD‐1 Inhibits CD4+ TRM‐Mediated cDC1 Mobilization via Suppressing JAML in Human NSCLC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CD4+ tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRMs) in non‐small cell lung cancer recruit conventional type 1 dendritic cells via XCL1‐XCR1 signaling, orchestrating antitumor immunity. The costimulatory molecule JAML is essential for this process. PD‐1 blockade restores JAML expression and cDC1 mobilization, while JAML agonists synergize with anti‐PD‐1 therapy,

Machine‐Learning Decomposition Identifies a Big Two Structure in Human Personality with Distinct Neurocognitive Profiles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using machine learning on a mega‐scale global dataset (n = 1,336,840) reveals a robust personality trait architecture beyond the Big Five. A Big Two model, broadly capturing social engagement and internal mentation, defines a geometric space that links personality to neurocognitive profiles.

Climate Change Threatens Micronutrient Density of European Winter Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micronutrients are vital for human health. Wheat is a major staple crop and a significant source of minerals and B‐vitamins. The impact of climate change on their content remains largely unknown. We evaluated micronutrient levels in European winter wheat grown under historical and projected climate conditions. Our findings indicate that future climates

Solving Spectrum Gridlock: Reforms to Liberalize Radio Spectrum Management in Canada in the Face of Growing Scarcity [PDF]

open access: yes
Canada lags other countries in solving the problem of spectrum scarcity amid rising demand driven by cellphones and other wireless products. In this study, the authors call for reforms to liberalize the allocation of spectrum in Canada with a market ...
