Spectrum analysis of the electroencephalogram

Computer Programs in Biomedicine, 1970
Abstract Digital Auto- and Cross-spectral Analysis has become an important method for quantifying and analyzing electroencephalographic data. This paper presents a set of four procedures written in ALGOL, which perform spectrum analysis of up to 14 simultaneously recorded EEG channels on a medium to large size computer.

Automated spectrum analysis

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1978
Automatic spectrum analyzers (ASA's) combine a powerful RF measurement system with computer control and data processing. This article discusses a typical ASA block diagram (analog and digital subsystems), shows how the calibration procedures used in such systems enhance the accuracy of measurements, and discusses some of the problems with current ASA ...

Practical Spectrum Analysis

1988
In the previous chapter we examined the theoretical background to the Fourier series representation of periodic waveforms, and the use of the Fourier Transform to examine data in the frequency domain. In this chapter we shall concentrate on the practical side of spectral analysis.

Spectrum Analysis of the Stream Cipher

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
Classical cryptography theory holds that the true random sequence is better than any pseudorandom sequence on the security of stream cipher. So people prefer the pseudorandom sequence with long-period to the pseudorandom sequence with short-period. In this paper, it is proved through power spectrum analysis that the pseudorandom sequence with long ...

Variance spectrum analysis

Water Resources Research, 1967
This paper is an annotated review of variance spectrum analysis. Faced with the impossible task of reviewing here the technique, providing illustrative examples from the field of hydrology, and providing learned insight into the uses of these techniques that are likely to be productive, I make no apology for the material included and omitted.

Microprogrammed spectrum analysis

ACM SIGMICRO Newsletter, 1978
This paper will demonstrate how microprogramming affects the FFT. An interactive simulator is used to draw comparisons between an assembler FFT, a microprogrammed FFT, and a microprogrammed FFT with a hard-wired multiply. The FFT is analyzed in detail and the bottlenecks involved with microprogramming are graphically displayed.

Bandwidth and spectrum analysis

American Journal of Physics, 1980
When complex waveforms are analyzed in undergraduate laboratory courses by examining oscillograms from simple resonant circuits, interpretation problems often occur. It is suggested that these problematic oscillograms are explainable by recognizing that typical resonant filters pass significant amounts of several harmonics adjacent to the one intended.

Spectrum analysis in carotid sonography

Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, 1987
Numerous Doppler spectral parameters for measurement of carotid obstructive lesions have been developed in recent years. This proliferation of parameters has caused sonologists to wonder which are valid and should be used routinely. This review article surveys the most commonly used Doppler spectral parameters.
