Speech enhancement for crosstalk interference
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 1997Speech signals are often degraded by additive interference over single-channel communication systems. For stationary and well defined noise sources, effective solutions exist. However, it is often difficult to formulate a model for nonstationary and speechlike noise sources such as crosstalk or multispeaker babble, which exist in real scenarios.

Automatic enhancement of speech intelligibility
2000 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37100), 2002This paper presents a speech signal transformation which slows down speech signals selectively and enhances some important acoustic cues. This transformation can be used not only for hearing aids but also for second language acquisition by facilitating oral comprehension. Selective slowing down relies on the use the TD-PSOLA synthesis method.

Speech enhancement using the bispectrum
IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 1993The authors present a study on the enhancement of speech that has been corrupted by additive wideband Gaussian noise. A least squares bispectrum reconstruction algorithm is used as a means for attenuating wideband Gaussian noise. A systematic approach is presented for processing speech records and estimating the bispectrum on a frame-by-frame basis ...

A Speech Enhancement Method in Subband
2007The speech enhancement method based on blind source separation and post-processing in subband [1] is an effective method in noise and reverberation environments. Performance analysis and computer simulations indicate that its performance is degraded under uncorrelated or mild correlated noise cases, and sometimes it might cause distortion of the ...
