Regulation of Chromosome Speeds in Mitosis [PDF]

open access: yesCellular and Molecular Bioengineering, 2013
When chromosome are being separated in preparation for cell division, their motions are slow (~16 nm/s) relative to the speed at which many motor enzymes can move their cellular cargoes (160-1000 nm/s and sometimes even faster) and at which microtubules (MTs) depolymerize (~200 nm/s).

Fractional-order Sliding Mode Control of Hybrid Drive Wind Turbine for Improving Low-voltage Ride-through Capacity

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2023
A hybrid drive wind turbine equipped with a speed regulating differential mechanism can generate electricity at the grid frequency by an electrically excited synchronous generator without requiring fully or partially rated converters.

Coordinated collision avoidance for multi‐vehicle systems based on collision time

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
Vehicles have irregular shapes and inter‐vehicle coordination is not a trivial task. Based on the distributed‐system framework, this paper studies multi‐vehicle control and coordinated obstacle avoidance for multiple autonomous vehicles with irregular ...

Improved Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control for IPMSM Drives Considering Load Inertia Mismatch

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
This article presents an improved linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) method for interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drives. The proposed method adopts a dual LADRC structure.

Market structure, Regulation and the Speed of Mobile Network Penetration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The speed of market penetration (i.e. diffusion) is an important summary measure of how well the market works for potential consumers of a new product. This paper identifies the structural features associated with rapid diffusion of mobile telephony.

SPEED REGULATION IN RAIL NETWORKS

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2006
Abstract This paper deals with the real time problem of determining feasible speed profiles for a number of trains circulating in a given area, compliant with train dynamics and railway safety rules, such that each train is able to reach given points in the network at given times.

Traffic Regulation via Controlled Speed Limit [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2017
We study an optimal control problem for traffic regulation via variable speed limit. The traffic flow dynamics is described with the Lighthill-Whitham-Richards (LWR) model with Newell-Daganzo flux function. We aim at minimizing the $L^2$ quadratic error to a desired outflow, given an inflow on a single road.
