Broadband electric spectroscopy of proton conducting SPEEK membranes

Journal of Membrane Science, 2012
Many papers have focused on the thermal properties, conductivity and fuel cell performance of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) membranes, but the electrical properties have not been extensively studied. In this work, the electric properties of SPEEK electrolytes are studied with broadband electric spectroscopy to elucidate the relationship ...

SPE water electrolysis with SPEEK/PES blend membrane

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2010
Abstract Sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) was blended with poly(ether sulfone) (PES) to make solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) membranes for hydrogen production via water electrolysis. The blend membranes were characterized in terms of proton conductivity and the swelling degree in water.

Composite sPEEK-TPyP membranes development for portable applications

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2015
Composite membranes based on sulphonated Polyetheretherketone (sPEEK) and 5,10,15,20-tetra(4-pyridyl)porphyrin (TPyP) were developed for portable applications. A sulphonation degree of 65% and different loadings (0-5wt%) of TPyP porphyrin were used.

Novel biomimetic actuator based on SPEEK and PVDF

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2009
In this study, a novel electro-active polymer based on a blended polymer membrane of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (i.e., SPEEK) and poly(vinylidene fluoride) (i.e., PVDF) is newly developed for the realization of a cost-effective and high-performing polymer actuator with controllable stiffness and ionic networking.

Effect of TEOS Additive as Proton Exchange Membrane on SPEEK-PVA and SPEEK-PVA-Boric Acid Blend Membranes

2023

CNT/SPEEK Nano‐Composite Membranes: Toward Improved Properties

Macromolecular Symposia, 2017
This study describes the preparation, characterization and performance of carboxylated carbon nanotubes (c‐CNT) incorporated sulfonated poly ether ether ketone (SPEEK) membrane for nanofiltration application. Carboxylation was done to purify and to graft functional groups onto CNT walls.

Modified SPEEK membranes for direct ethanol fuel cell

Journal of Power Sources, 2010
Abstract Membranes with low ethanol crossover were prepared aiming their application for direct ethanol fuel cell (DEFC). They were based on (1) sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) coated with carbon molecular sieves (CMS) and (2) on SPEEK/PI homogeneous blends.

Theoretical studies on the morphological and electrical properties of blended PES/SPEEK nanofiltration membranes using different sulfonation degree of SPEEK

Journal of Membrane Science, 2009
Abstract Sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone)s (SPEEKs) with different sulfonation degrees (DS) were synthesized and characterized using FTIR and NMR for the preparation of blend nanofiltration (NF) membranes. Blends of polyethersulfone and SPEEK at various SPEEK concentrations and various DS were prepared by a simple dry-jet wet spinning technique ...

COMPOSITE NAFION AND sPEEK-PORPHYRIN MEMBRANES

2015
The ability to control the spatial arrangement of porphyrins, through non covalent intermolecular interactions, is very important for accessing advanced functional materials with peculiar properties. Recently, we reported on the ability to easily tune porphyrin J-aggregates optical features using inner channels of Nafion membranes as confined ...
