National Context and STEM Career Expectations: Social Comparison and Gender Differences Across 72 Economies

open access: yesThe Career Development Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adolescents’ career expectations play a pivotal role in shaping identity and future opportunities, yet little is known about how national‐level comparisons influence these expectations. MXenes as a Versatile Platform for High‐Energy‐Density Asymmetric Supercapacitors

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
MXenes with high conductivity and tunable surface chemistry are reviewed as advanced electrodes for asymmetric supercapacitors. MAX‐phase synthesis, surface and interlayer engineering, defect modulation, and composite designs are discussed, highlighting enhanced ion transport, pseudocapacitance, energy density, cycling stability, and sustainable routes

Substituent‐Dependent Structural Trends in Thermal Condensation of Silanetriols and Disiloxanetetraols

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We report a catalyst‐ and solvent‐free thermal condensation route to oligosilsesquioxanes from arylsilanetriols and disiloxanetetraols. Phenyl and 1‐naphthyl systems form ladder‐like structures, while 2‐naphthyl systems yields layered architectures.

On the defence of responsible human judgement in peer review

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Peer review is essential for scientific progress. When it works well, it combines expertise, fairness, proportionality, skepticism, generosity, and discretion. When it fails, it becomes a theatre for egotistical display, laziness, coercion, and, lately, reliance on artificial intelligence tools. Editors, reviewers, and authors must join forces

THE SPELLING RULES OF THE KAZAKH LANGUAGE IN 1923 AND ITS CONNECTION WITH THE SPELLING OF BAITURSYNULY

open access: yesTiltanym
Just as every language has its history, it also has a history of symbolic meaning – letters and spelling rules. The writing culture of a particular country, people, or nation with a national language covers several epochs and historicalperiods. It is known that the Kazakh national script has been formed since 1912 in connection with the name of Akhmet ...

Large parameter asymptotic analysis for homogeneous normalized random measures with independent increments

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Homogeneous normalized random measures with independent increments represent a broad class of Bayesian nonparametric priors and thus are widely used. In this article, we obtain the strong law of large numbers, the central limit theorem (CLT), and the functional central limit theorem (fCLT) of such measures when the concentration parameter a ...

Blockchain Technology in Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting: A Bibliometric Analysis Through the Technology–Organization–Environment (TOE) Lens

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Blockchain technology has emerged as a potential disruptor in non‐financial reporting practices for firms to publicly report their social and environmental impact with its promise of immutability and decentralization. In this context, this study employs a bibliometric analysis to explore the scientific advancements of blockchain applications ...
