Diagnostic yield of OCT3/4 reflex testing in testicular biopsy

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
GCNIS detection frequency was 48/3353 (1.4%) testicular biopsies from 42/1870 (2.2%) men who underwent testicular biopsy with or without testicular sperm extraction (TESE). OCT3/4 was particularly helpful for detecting interstitial seminoma, GCNIS coexisting with mature spermatogenesis, and focal GCNIS.

Quantitative proteomic characterization of human sperm cryopreservation: using data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry

open access: yesBMC Urology, 2019
Background Human sperm cryopreservation is a simple and effective approach for male fertility preservation. Methods To identify potential proteomic changes in this process, data-independent acquisition (DIA), a technology with high quantitative accuracy ...

Targeting Cellular Lipid Rafts for Dynamic Nuclear Polarization Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
Illuminating lipid rafts within intact cells using dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP). Targeting lipid rafts with the protein ostreolysin A allows the selective delivery of DNP‐compatible radicals, generating hyperpolarization of nuclear spins in the lipid raft. Lipid rafts serve as important platforms for membrane and signaling proteins.

Low-density Lipoprotein Improves Motility and Plasma Membrane Integrity of Cryopreserved Canine Epididymal Spermatozoa [PDF]

open access: yesAsian-Australasian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2016
Cryopreservation of caudal epididymal spermatozoa is an effective technique to conserve genetic potentials of superior dogs when it is not possible to collect ejaculated spermatozoa. Although hen egg yolk is commonly supplemented into the semen extender,

Bottom‐Up Ice Growth Geometry Attenuates Shear Stress and Improves the Cryopreservation of Hematopoietic Stem/Progenitor Cells Under Low DMSO Concentrations

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 3, Page 582-597, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Studies on cell cryopreservation have been limited by the complexity of the freezing process and challenges on controlling ice formation, managing cooling rates, and optimizing cryoprotectant concentrations. The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of bottom‐up and conventional radial freezing on the viability of mammalian cells ...

Protective effect and mechanisms of marine antifreeze protein product on sperm cryodamage in livestock

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2020
Antifreeze proteins (AFPs), a class of antifreeze substances, were initially found to bind to ice crystals in vivo, thereby contributing to inhibition of the growth of ice crystals that enabled polar fish to survive at the temperatures below freezing ...

Fertility preservation in women with sarcoma: A real‐world experience

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 5, Page 1178-1183, 1 March 2026.
What's New? Sarcomas frequently affect adolescent girls and young women, but limited data exist on ovarian function following sarcoma treatment. This observational cohort study evaluated the feasibility, timing, and clinical relevance of fertility preservation in young women treated for high‐grade sarcomas or desmoid tumors.

Post‐Thawing Viability of the Microalgae Scenedesmus dimorphus: The Importance of Species‐Specific Cryopreservation

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research, Volume 60, Issue 1, March 2026.
Cryopreservation of microalgae is crucial for preserving strains that are valuable for biotechnology and industry. The cryopreservation of Scenedesmus dimorphus is particularly relevant due to its emerging role in sustainable biotechnology, including its high lipid accumulation for biofuel production, adaptability to variable lighting conditions, and ...

Cryopreservation of epididymal dog sperm

open access: yesAnimal Reproduction Science, 2001
A method of cryopreservation was developed for sperm salvaged from the cauda epididymis and vas deferens of domestic dog testes. Four modifications of the glycerol concentration of a buffer used for cryopreservation of dog ejaculates and two freezing rates were assessed for their effect upon post-thaw spermatozoal motility and morphology.
