Evaluation of the Effects of Nicotinic Acid and Folic Acid on Morphology, Membrane Integrity and Quality of Sperm Chromatin Concentration in Normozoospermic Men during Cryopreservation.

open access: yesمجله علمی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی کردستان, 2022
Background and Aim: Sperm cryopreservation is an important assisted reproductive technique. However, due to increased production of reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress, it can impair sperm function and reduce quality of fertility.

Diagnostic yield of OCT3/4 reflex testing in testicular biopsy

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 89, Issue 1, Page 136-143, July 2026.
GCNIS detection frequency was 48/3353 (1.4%) testicular biopsies from 42/1870 (2.2%) men who underwent testicular biopsy with or without testicular sperm extraction (TESE). OCT3/4 was particularly helpful for detecting interstitial seminoma, GCNIS coexisting with mature spermatogenesis, and focal GCNIS.

Antioxidant supplementation of cryopreservation extenders improves post-thaw sperm viability in the red-crowned toadlet, Pseudophryne australis

open access: yesFrontiers in Amphibian and Reptile Science
Amphibians are currently experiencing the highest extinction rate of any vertebrate class. Gamete cryopreservation and the biobanking of genetic resources are important conservation tools to safeguard the genetic diversity of imperiled species.

A Surface‐engineered Microfluidic Device for Antibody‐Mediated Negative Selection of High‐Quality Sperm for Assisted Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 47, 11 June 2026.
This study reports a microfluidic device with a functionalized surface utilizing a polyoxazoline coating and covalently immobilized gold nanoparticles and anti‐phosphatidylserine antibody. The device efficiently eliminates pre‐apoptotic and apoptotic spermatozoa and yields sperm with substantially improved quality and low DNA damage, offering a simple ...

Effect of Three Semen Extenders on Sperm Quality and In Vitro Fertilization Rates of Fresh and Cryopreserved Sperm Collected from Llama (Lama glama) Vas Deferens

open access: yesAnimals
The advances in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ARTs) applied in South American camelid species are still scarce. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of three semen extenders, before and after the cryopreservation of spermatozoa obtained

Cryogenic Sperm Banking of Mrigal (Cirrhinus cirrhosus) for Hatchery‐Scale Quality Seed Production in Bangladesh

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The mrigal carp (Cirrhinus cirrhosus) has the highest demand in Bangladesh aquaculture due to its rapid growth, easy culture technology, customer preferences, and adaptability. But the quality of its seeds has declined over time in hatcheries.

Lowering Sperm Dose Rates in Frozen Semen for Bovine Artificial Breeding

open access: yes, 2007
The New Zealand Dairy industry relies on artificial breeding to produce high genetic merit replacement stock. Proven bull semen is extended and preserved as either ambient temperature product or as frozen doses.

Evaluation of microRNA expression profiles in human sperm frozen using permeable cryoprotectant-free droplet vitrification and conventional methods

open access: yesAsian Journal of Andrology
For sperm cryopreservation, the conventional method, which requires glycerol, has been used for a long time. In addition, the permeable cryoprotectant-free vitrification method has been continuously studied.

Metacognitions and Reproductive Concerns in Testicular Cancer Patients of Reproductive Age: The Mediating Role of Fear of Progression

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Many testicular cancer patients of reproductive age experience reproductive concerns. Metacognitions may alleviate patients' fear of progression and reproductive concerns. However, this relationship has not been well established in testicular cancer patients of reproductive age.

Utilization of Honey as an Extender Material in Cryopreservation of Selincah Fish Sperm (Belontia hasselti)

open access: yesQuagga
Problems often encountered in the breeding of selincah fish are that the maturation period of the male and female parent fish sometimes does not occur simultaneously.
