Sperm retrieval for azoospermia and intracytoplasmic sperm injection success rates – A personal overview

Human Fertility, 2010
It is often questioned whether sperm parameters, including whether retrieved or ejaculated, have any effect on intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) results. Do severe spermatogenic defects affect embryo quality or pregnancy rate? Further, does it matter in azoospermic patients whether the sperm source is testicular or epididymal?

Discordant Bilateral Testicular Pathology Does not Affect Sperm Retrieval Rate in Bilateral Microdissection Testicular Sperm Extraction (mTESE)

Urology, 2023
To assess the incidence of discordant testicular pathology in men undergoing bilateral microdissection testicular sperm extraction (mTESE) and association with sperm retrieval rate.We performed a retrospective single-institutional review of all patients undergoing mTESE from 2007 to 2021 and aggregated clinical history, physical exam, semen analysis ...

PREGNANCY RATES IN RELATION TO TIME INTERVALS BETWEEN REPEAT SPERM-RETRIEVAL PROCEDURES

Archives of Andrology, 2001
A total of 76 repeat sperm retrievals were carried out in 47 azoospermic men. The outcome of the procedures was evaluated regarding to the interval between two successive procedures. Sperm motility and pregnancy rate were not increased by increasing the interval between two successive sperm retrievals from less than 90 days to more than 180 days.

Sperm retrieval rate and reproductive outcome of infertile men with azoospermia factor c deletion

Andrologia, 2018
To evaluate the success rate in sperm retrieval (SR) through microdissection testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE) in infertile azoospermia factor c (AZFc)-deleted men and determining their reproductive outcomes following ICSI, medical records of couples with AZFc-deleted male partners were reviewed on patient's age, serum hormone levels, karyotype,

Relevance of testicular histopathology on prediction of sperm retrieval rates in case of non-obstructive and obstructive azoospermia

Urologia, 2018
Introduction: The aim of our research was to establish the relevance of testicular histopathology on sperm retrieval after testicular sperm extraction in patients with non-obstructive azoospermia and in patients with obstructive azoospermia, who already underwent a previous failure testicular fine needle aspiration.
