Spermatocytic Seminoma

Pathology Case Reviews, 1994
Spermatocytic seminoma is a rare testicular neoplasm that occurs only in adults (range, 25 to 87 years; mean, 54). It has no ovarian homologue and is found only in descended testes. It is not associated with other types of germ cell neoplasia. Orchiectomy is curative in virtually all cases; of more than 200 known cases, only one has metastasized.

SPERMATOCYTIC SEMINOMA

Medical Journal of Australia, 1976
A case of spermatocytic seminoma is described. The lesion illustrates the characteristic macroscopic and microscopic pathology of this relatively rare tumour, and is the largest recorded example. The long history of 15 years draws attention to the slow growth pattern and excellent prognosis.

Spermatocytic Seminoma: A Review

European Urology, 2004
Spermatocytic seminoma is a rare testicular tumour that has an extremely low rate of metastasis. We present a review of the management of this malignancy at our institution.Between 1981 and 1999, 771 patients were treated at our institution for testicular seminoma. Of these, 13 had spermatocytic seminoma; one was excluded as he had treatment elsewhere.

Metastatic Spermatocytic Seminoma

Journal of Urology, 1980
Spermatocytic seminoma is noted generally for its relative infrequency of regional or distant metastases. A case of metastatic spermatocytic seminoma is reported in which there was radiographic evidence of tumor recurrence within an irradiated area.

A pachytene map of the mouse spermatocyte

Chromosoma, 1981
Pachytene chromomere maps of early and mid/late mouse spermatocytes have been prepared which permit exact identification of each bivalent. The average total number of chromomeres on the autosomal bivalents was 248 in the early cells and 184 in the mid/late.

Spermatocytic seminoma: An immunohistochemical study

Human Pathology, 1994
Spermatocytic seminoma (SS) is an unusual germ cell tumor that behaves in an indolent fashion. Because orchiectomy alone in adequate treatment, it is important to distinguish SS from classic seminoma and other germ cell tumors. Light microscopic distinction usually is possible; however, occasional cases of SS exhibit atypical features, including the ...
