Preparation and NMR characterization of superporous hydrogels (SPH) and SPH composites
Polymer, 2000Abstract In this investigation the mechanism of synthesis and characterization of Superporous Hydrogel (SPH) and SPH composites were studied. Solid-state 13C NMR was used for elucidating the structure of the polymers. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), apparent density and swelling ratio studies were used to characterize these polymers.

We propose a novel formulation of the projection method for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). We combine a symmetric SPH pressure force and an SPH discretization of the continuity equation to obtain a discretized form of the pressure Poisson equation (PPE). In contrast to previous projection schemes, our system does consider the actual computation

SPH and Adaptive FEM/SPH Methods in Debris Cloud Simulation
2022 16th Hypervelocity Impact Symposium, 2022Abstract The Whipple shielding is the most common way to increase aerostructures safety by preventing main structures from the direct impact of the external threats which is broken into small pieces before reaching the witness plate. The diffusion of fragment pieces forms the debris cloud after the collision.

The equations of motion of an ultrarelativistic gas are solved using the particle method SPH. The algorithm is based on a form of SPH which integrates the specific energy equation instead of the thermal energy equation and determines the dissipative terms along the lines of Riemann solvers.

Based on the smoothed kernel approximation of the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method and Taylor series expansion, a new revised scheme for SPH method is proposed which significantly improves its accuracy, especially near the boundaries where the particle points do not entirely cover the compact support domain of kernel function and particles
