On Interpolation in SPH

open access: yesComputer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, 2001
The work presented provides an overview of different types of kernel interpolation used in the SPH method: conventional SPH, normalised SPH (NSPH), corrected kernel SPH (CSPH) and normalised corrected kernel SPH (NCSPH). These four methods are considered in a fully mesh-free form (using no background mesh).

Novel SPH and MPS Laplacian Models Improved by MLS Method for Solving Poisson equations [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Methods in Civil Engineering
The smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) and moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) are well-known and efficient mesh-less numerical methods widely used to investigate a wide range of complicated practical engineering problems.

Analysis of Movement Law and Influencing Factors of Hill-Drop Fertilizer Based on SPH Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Studying the movement law and influencing factors of fertilizer in soil and controlling fertilizer distribution can improve the quality of fertilization, which is of great significance for promoting crop yield. In this paper, a 3D simulation model of the

Geometric Nonuniformity Localizes Valence Orbitals in Gold Clusters: Case Study on [Au23(SC6H11)16]–

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The electronic structure of [Au23(SC6H11)16]–, a monolayer‐protected gold cluster with a nonuniform Au13 core, was investigated. Anion photoelectron spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations revealed that the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and HOMO‐1 are localized on the two triangular Au3 units at the ends of the Au13 core ...

Does antenatal care service quality influence essential newborn care (ENC) practices? In Bahir Dar City Administration, North West Ethiopia: a prospective follow up study

open access: yesItalian Journal of Pediatrics, 2018
Background The neonatal period is only 1/60th of the first 5 years of life but it accounts for 63% of all infant deaths and 44% of all under-five deaths in Ethiopia.

Three Component Thio‐ and Carboboration of Alkynes: A Modular Route to Functionalised Bicyclic Boronates

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Three‐component thio‐ and carbo‐boration reactions to form functionalised benzoxaborinines and benzazaborinines are reported. The nucleophile scope includes thioethers, thiols, and (hetero)arenes. Mechanistic studies revealed a disparity between thioboration using thioethers and using thiols.

Compressed Neighbour Lists for SPH [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, 2019
AbstractWe propose a novel compression scheme to store neighbour lists for iterative solvers that employ Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). The compression scheme is inspired by Stream VByte, but uses a non‐linear mapping from data to data bytes, yielding memory savings of up to 87%.
