Conditions of metamorphism of the Outokumpu Cu - Co - Zn deposit from sphalerite geobarometry [PDF]
Electron microprobe analysis was used to determine Zn and Fe in homogeneous samples of sphalerite in mutual contact with pyrrhotite and pyrite from the disseminated ore layer stratigraphically high in the Keretti orebody at Outokumpu, Finland.

Contamination of surface waters by mining wastes in the Milluni Valley (Cordillera Real, Bolivia): Mineralogical and hydrological influences [PDF]
This study is one of very few dealing with mining waste contamination in high altitude, tropical-latitude areas exploited during the last century. Geochemical, mineralogical and hydrological characterizations of potentially harmful elements (PHEs) in ...

Floatation separation of galena, sphalerite, and pyrrhotite by combined depressant CCSL
The flotation separation of galena, sphalerite, and pyrrhotite was investigated with CCSL as a depressant. Flotation test results show that galena and sphalerite can float but pyrrhotite can barely float with CCSL as a depressant.

A study of isotropic-pseudoanisotropic zoning in sphalerite [PDF]
Sphalerite with isotropic-pseudoanisotropic zoning is described from greisen in Eurajoki, SW Finland. Single-crystal X-ray studies showed that the pseudoanisotropy is due to very small chalcopyrite inclusions, oriented with their crystallographic axes ...

High‐Entropy Sulfides Catalyze Rate‐Determining Redox in Fast‐Charging Aqueous Zinc–Sulfur Batteries
This work reveals how entropy regulates sulfur utilization and cycling stability in aqueous Zn–S batteries. High‐entropy (HES) catalysts enable optimized Zn–S redox pathways and structural integrity, achieving high sulfur utilization and stable cycling.

Leaching and thermal decomposition of mechanically activated sphalerite-pyrite mixture [PDF]
The effect of mechanical activation and pyrite addition on the thermal decomposition and acid leaching of sphalerite was studied. Mechanical activation enhances both hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical processing of sphalerite.
